Smile Sega Saturn Imports?

Allright, I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to the Saturn. I bought one used with a few games off of half.com a while back. At the moment, i really don't have many games -- besides Virtual Fighter, Nights into Dreams, and some other miscellaneous stuff.

Now, for those of you who have had the system, are there any import titles you can reccomend?(well, domestic as well i suppose)

I've heard of the panzer dragoon saga, but that's a bit pricey. So, what else should i be on the lookout for? I'm in to platformers, side scrollers, and fighters. Any stand-out 2D fighters from Capcom?

Thanks for your input

I have a blast with Panzeer Dragoon 1 and 2. Great games, if you're into fighting games try Fighting Vipers and Fighters Megamix. With platformers I thought Bugg and Clockwork Knights were pretty good. I'm still trying to hunt down a copy of Blazing Dragons (point and click adventure). The reason Panzeer Dragoon saga is so expensive is because it's extremely rare, its also the only rpg of the series. I'm fixing to go Saturn game shopping again btw, tell me if you run into any good sites (I've been using ebay and half myself).

Quite a bit. Saturn imports scene is awesome, so many great games, I think my ratio of imports/domestic is like 2:1, or maybe 3:1.

Still some good domestic titles tho like Guardian Heroes(Treasure), Panzer Dragoon Series, Duke Nukem, Powerslave, Nights, Shining in the Darkness, Shining Force 3, Virtua Cop 1/2, Virtua Fighter 2/Kids, Darius Gaiden, Street Fighter Alpha 2 (3 is import only), Iron Storm (World War 2 wargame), Dragon Force (basically anything WOrking Designs published is pretty damn good), Shining Wisdom, Super Puzzle Fighter, Burning Rangers, Sega Rally and Virtual On.

As far as imports go, yikes there are alot. You like 2D fighters? Grab yourself a 4meg ram cart and go hogwild with Capcom's Vs series like Xmen Vs Streetfighter, Marvel Vs Street Fighter, Vampire Savior, SFZ 3 (Alpha 3), Cyberbots or SNK's King of Fighters 95 (comes with its own rom cart that reduce the loading to only 2 or 3 seconds), KOF 96/97....

Shooters, again, there are ALOT, vertical shooters like Radiant Silvergun, Soukugurentai, Battle Garrega, Blast Wind, Shienryu, DonPachi and Do DonPachi and horizontal shooters like Parodius series, Gradius collection, THunderforce Goldpack 1/2, Thunderforce 5, Sengoku Blade, Cotton 2, Cotton Bomberang, and many many others. Some of them are pretty pricy tho b/c they are sought after by many collectors!

And there are many great action games like Dungeons and Dragons Collection, Bubble Symphony, Fire Prowrestling 6 Men Scramble, Elevator Actions Return, Twinkle Star Sprites, etc...

Basically, you got alot to choose from, and finding them maybe not be too difficult thru ebay and various gaming forum's Trade section! Good luck, let me know if you need any more directions

Allright, so my Saturn is a domestic, US one. I allways figured that I'd need to plug in a cart, or something in that expansion cartridge spot to play Imports. Now, how would i be able to use the ROM cart, with the import converter thing? Or, i see something that opens on the back of my saturn -- would that be where the RAM/Rom upgrade goes?(you mention the 4 meg upgrade) I'm just kind of confused on what goes where, and how i can use all this stuff at once. Heck, i can't even save games yet. Would something like this fit all my needs?

As for the titles -- Those sound great! Once i jump fully into the import scene, it sounds like I'll be busy for quite a while. Thanks for the reccomendations, guys

Edit: Oops didn't even see you posted a link of the same thing from lik-sang site... I would order it from NCS tho b/c it is basically the same price and NCS is based in NY whereas Liksang is from hong kong... /edit

Follow this link

http://hh141.hiphip.com/Templates/fr...=40&SearchYN=N

The Action Replay 4Meg will allow you to play virtually every import game and the ones that require the 4meg ram cart. This is very handy b/c you don't have to modify your saturn.

The only game you cannot play is KOF95, b/c it comes with its own ROM cartridge, so you will have to modify your saturn to play that if you *really* want to, but that's only 1 game, you probably don't care that much about it anyway.

The above site/link is actually from NCS I have bought a ton of stuff from them before so they are very very reliable.

Thanks for the site, Lastblade! I've been afraid to order from LikSang, so I'm happy to see an alternative. Now I'm going to have to seek out some Saturn imports! (and, hopefully, i'll be able to save my games)
