Didn't SEGA already announce that they were merging with Sammy?

It looked like a sure thing with Sammy, but the word on street seems to be that a lot of internal strife resulted from the deal and I guess Sega and Sammy have realised they are not compatible. Here's a link to more news on the subject of Sega.

Yeah, I've heard that a lot of people at Sega are not happy with the Sammy deal. Personally, the best thing Sega could do is join up with MS. EA would, I think,, just swallow them up and churn out generic sequel after sequel. MS needs what Sega has too much to chop them up and dig out the heart of what has made Sega such a household name.

Besides, if EA gets Sega, I'll never get another NFL2Kx game, and I refuse to play another Madden after the 2K series had my heart.

I hate "buyouts." I wouldn't be happy if SEGA was "bought out" by MS, Nintendo, or Sony. I would much rather have them merge or be "bought out" by another independant company... with the exception of EA.

I think companies of comperable size merge. Goliath eating David, on the other hand, is a buyout. But, I stand by my feelings that MS would be more courtious to Sega than EA would, if only because EA can afford to eat them and never look back, while MS needs the street cred Sega can provide.

Yeh, EA buying out SEGA would be the worst buyout since... EA took over Origin.
