Wow! Gungrave has style!
Picked this up for $15 at Target tonight and I am very impressed. The gameplay is a bit shallow. It's a very simple 3D "shoot-em-up." But where this really shines is the graphics... mainly it's style. The whole thing looks like an anime and it's really well done. It appears to be completely "cel shaded" and the character you control is incrediblely detailed in both look and motion.
Do yourself a favor and pick this up. It was well worth the $15! This is the link to SEGA's game page. Definitely check out the movie (the first link under "screenshots") as well as the available shots. This game is really a work of art in motion. |

I don't think it's cel shaded, just very stylized and colorful. JSRF is cel shaded, and to me they look nothing alike. I could be wrong though.
As for the game, yes, it is incredible. Sadly, the controls are a bit too much for some, so it was blasted as being too complex and cumbersome. I didn't thnk it was, though, and I'm glad you don't either. |

I'm pretty certain it is "cel shaded" ... it certainly looks like it is at least. ![]() |
