As part of their "classics" lineup, you can download the first GTA free. It looks like their servers are crapping out though as I've been trying to get the download going for about 20 minutes with no luck. I'll keep trying though. I remember playing the demo all the time back in... hmmm... that'd probably be my freshman year of high school. Ahhhh, smell that? That's nostalgia. By the way, the file is 328 MB so be warned. |

I'm on Fileplanet's cue as we speak (estimated wait before DL commences: 29 minutes). I'm hoping that Rockstar Games delivers on their statement that it has been tweaked to run on OSes such as Win XP. GTA has been a problematic game for PC users; it's one of those games that's either difficult to configure for smooth running, and/or crashes consistently, whether during installation or while it's running (thank goodness I have the PS2 version already
).I don't think there's anything new added content-wise, but a free game is still a free game, and it's one of the best on the PC platform. Nice find, IKEA_boy .
