Xbox Quick Xbox Live Question

I may very well pick this up today. (How many times have I said that though? ) But I want to make sure of something first. I recall hearing a story of someone trying to use a debit card (which are usually associated with MC/VISA) to subscribe to XBL but it didn't work and they ended up getting into a huge ordeal with Microsoft. Anyway, has anyone successfully used a Mastercard debit card (which is what I'd have to use) for XBL?

You bet! All I have is my Visa Debit card (I refuse to get a "real" one), and it worked fine. Mastercard shouldn't be any different.

Honestly, I've heard these rumors before about various things, and even been refused service at places that clearly admited they accepted Visa, but thought they couldn't accept their check cards. The truth of the matter is, for use and authorization, there is absolutely NO difference between the debit and credit cards as far as a vendor is concerned.

Take it from me, this is what I do for a living

Recently I have heard stories of people having problems with debit cards, but YMMV. Most say it works, but some say it doesn't... Don't see why it shouldn't though, unless they purposely check to see if it will run as debit. Note that Microsoft does not support debit cards as a billing option, so if the account won't activate because of your debit card, you will need to find a CC.

You could always use one of those prepay credit cards that you get at a gas station if it doesn't work.

I used a debit check card, and had no problems at all.
