Xbox Tetris Worlds Online Impressions

In short, I could live on this game alone. As long as there are people playing I'll be happy.
As far as I can tell, there are two groups of three modes of play. You have Tetris, Square, and Cascade. And on top of those, you have Lounge, Race, and Knock Out. So, you can play Lounge Tetris, or Knock Out Square, etc.

Tetris is straight Tetris. Plain and simple.
Square lets you make 4x4 squares of pieces to get an uber-square that is worth a lot more.
Cascade is something I didn't really like and haven't played much of. It's hard to explain. The game says they "turned on gravity" and basically, it's a way to chain lines together. Just not for me I guess. There are a shit load of other puzzle games that focus on chaining.

Lounge is a mode that just lets you play and talk. No competition, no winner, no loser. Essentially, Tetris for wimps. :p
Race requires you to clear a set number of lines in 2:00. The amount of lines vary with the type of game you pick (Tetris, Square, or Cascade) and it gets really hard to clear the set number on later levels.
Knock Out is the one I prefer. You've all played it before. It's just garbage mode.

Other notables; you have the reserve piece that has popped up in every Tetris post SNES. Every time you clear a level (in any mode) your well clears.

My forte is KO Square. I love it and if you ever see me online 9/10 I'm playing that game.

Online rankings are split into four groups. Race, KO Tetris, KO Square, and KO Cascade. I don't know why all of Race is merged into one group. That doesn't make much sense.
Right now I'm #3 out of 98 in Race Mode, #8 of 47 in KO Tetris and #1 of 20 in KO Square. I haven't ranked into KO Cascade though (see above).

So, if you have XBL, pick this up when it comes out in June. If you don't have XBL, pick that up and make sure you get the one with Tetris.

Oh man. Now everything I see that even remotely resembles a rectangle, I have to think about how I could fit more pieces in there.
I swear, since I bought this thing Sunday I've probably logged more hours into it than I have 90% of my game collection.

IKEA, assuming Tetris has world rankings like most Live games, how are you compared to the rest of the world?

There are four types of rankings; Race Mode, KO Tetris, KO Square, and KO Cascade.

The only one I know for sure right now is that I'm #1 in KO Tetris. I know one of the other two that I'm ranked in changed dramatically last night but I don't remember which one.
