Madden NFL online internet play exclusive to PS2

According to USA Today, Madden NFL & Tiger Woods Golf will be internet playable for the PS2 only. Expect Electronics Arts to make the announcement today @ the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.

EA is building an XBOX-Live wannabe service that will cost a monthly fee for EA-Sports games only.

Fucking EA, they should just stick with all three consoles.

Well it's quite simple why they aren't doing online with XBOX. XBOX Live already offers all the features they are planning for 'EA Live' or whatever they want to call it, so they can't justify charging people a fee for just their sports games on XBOX Live when all the other companies aren't. EA wants some monthly fee action in addition to the $49.99 you pay, and they want the Divx-style power to disable your Madden 2003 online play once 2004 hits stores, which they have already announced they will do. It's just a case of greed - they are making shitloads of money, but want to make more, even if unjustified. The question is how many PS2 users will pay $5.99 for EA Sports games online and only EA Sports games online with PS2 when for the same $5.99 (or $4.17 if you pay yearly) you can get SEGA sports games plus games from every other company too on XBOX Live? EA is truly raking PS2 owners over the coals.

Exactly Ruined, couldnt have said it better... Not that it really matters though, the sega sports games are much better than the EA ones lately, and they already have online play
