PC Gta:vc

Am I the only PC gamer here playing GTA:VC?!?!

I can't believe there's no thread about it, yet!

Dood, this game rocks your socks! I've only played 15 minutes - enough to see the intros and complete the first mission. $100. Bah.

Motorcycles. Ferraris. Awesome radio.

Smoother. Crisper graphics.

The voice acting - which some have praised in GTA3 - is actually pretty good! William Fictner rules! Good voice acting! Burt Reynolds. Ray Liotta. Damn. THe list is long, but I can't remember.

Wow. Color me impressed. And happy!

I heard the PC version is miles ahead the PS2 one graphically. Any thoughts on that?

From what I heard it's just cleaner and sharper... like the XBOX version will be in a year or whatever... but maybe I'm wrong. Anyway I'm not too jealous cause I was playing it 7 months ago:p

I'm still scratching the surface. Will report more as encountered.

Picked it up on Wednesday, and I love it!!! My comp doesn't even meet the recommended specs (only RAM), and it runs great, no problems so far.

Vice City is on my list of PC purchases, but right now I have three other games I need to finish before starting in on GTA 3: VC. But based on GTA3, which I enjoyed I cannot wait to start in on VC.

Played it most of the day today... great game, very clean...

Plus... use ones own MP3's... man, that just rocks...

Note, I have the ps2 version, and in one day I've already gone beyond how far I was in the ps2 version... its that much 'easier' and 'accessible' and just 'more fun' to me on the PC... I do have a very well decked PC tho...

Wow, I'm venturing into the Gaming forum...

Anyway, I was going to pick up the GTA PC version eventually, but might go for Vice City now instead, especially if it runs better.

Vice City runs FAR greater than GTA3 did on the PC. I've got a pretty hefty system, and GTA3 suffered from stuttering, random drop-outs, graphics issues, etc. It clearly shows in Vice City that Rockstar spent some time completely recoding the game so that it would work on the PC as flawlessly as possible. I have yet to run into any game-stopping bugs/glitches and have been able to enjoy the living hell out of this game. Some of the missions are just incredibly fun to do, while some of them are complete pains in the ass. (One of my favorites is a mission where you have to drive a friend around town while you're completely sloshed. The graphics they have for that mission and the effects they create to simulate the inebriation is so incredibly realistic that it made me a little sick to my stomach. Heh. It also shows why you should NEVER drive while drunk.)

The voice acting, as mentioned earlier, is fantastic. Ray Liotta, Burt Reynolds, Robert Davi, Dennis Hopper, Lawrence Taylor, everyone involved does a great job. The radio stations are FANTASTIC! I love how they all have a wide range of 80's music in there. I could not believe how many artists allowed their songs to be used in full. Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister, Judas Priest, Michael Jackson, Ozzy Osbourne, Toto, Flock of Seagulls, Corey Hart, Nena, Gary Numan, and many, many more that do not come to mind right now.

If anyone is like me and has a powerful PC but no PS2, Vice City is worth the wait. (I've got a pretty big monitor and a GREAT surround sound system hooked up to my PC. My computer is my DVD player and video game system. I just don't have the money or space to set up a good TV based setup and then buy a PS2.) If you've been waiting around to see how Vice City is, wait no longer. It is well worth the money and a blast to play. Even though I'm done with the story part of the game, I'm only half-way to 100%. There is so much more I have yet to do that the game will keep me occupied for the weeks ahead.

(God that sounded like a commercial.)
