Viewtiful Joe looks like it'll do great. I know a lot of gamers that already have the Japanese version and love it. I'm very pleased to hear Capcom is backing it up like they should. (After all, where would the Xbox be without it's massive marketing budget?)

I'm not commenting on the quality of the game, I'm just doubtful that the common Joe gamer would pick up that game even with advertising. Reminds me of when SEGA tried to do tons of advertising for Jet Set Radio.

I really don't get this one either.

What are your negative thought on this, please.

And as far as I could tell, all my friends who owned a dreamcast also owned Jet Set/Grind Radio.

Have you given the demo of Viewtiful Joe a whirl?
I know I have. I love it. My wife digs it, she can't wait to play it.
Hell, even my son digs it.

Unfortunately for me, I can't afford to pick up the import
I modded my cube for nothing

(Although I despise number systems; ) GMR gave Viewtiful Joe a 9/10. It's got a 92% at gamerankings.com

You guys are missing the point. A game like that rarely ever sells well in the US, even with advertising. You said all your dreamcast owning friends own JSR (and I own both JSR and JSRF), but most Dreamcast owners did not buy it and the game was a financial failure for SEGA both in the US and Japan despite lots of ads - it sold like crap compared to other high profile Dreamcast titles. I think too games are just too foreign for the majority of US gamers - Viewtiful Joe looks like it could be an example of this; it can get all the stunning reviews in the world and still bomb if US gamers cannot identify with it. Plus, it will have competition by plenty of US-themed games. So again, I wish Capcom good luck on this one.
