Xbox Star Trek: Shattered Universe

It's being release on November 10th for both Xbox and PS2.

Just saw a preview of it last night on X Play (TechTV show) and it looks pretty good.

They took the idea for the game from the original series episode "Mirror mirror" where the Enterprise is thrown into an alternate universe where Starfleet is the Evil Empire and the Romulans and Klingons are allies against us.

Mostly a space shooter, with Star Trek fighters.

It heavily features Chekov and Sulu with the original actors doing the voices.

Well sorry for my ignorance. To me it looks like it just says the idea from the game came from an original episode, not that it's based in the originals time frame.

OK, I can see the confusion now.

Some of the other things they said in the preview . . .

The missions are all well thought out and almost always throw you some kind of curve, nothing routine. You start off with a direct objective, but something else happens and you have to complete that as well. I like it when they do that type of thing.

Sulu is the main 'good' character and the alternate universe Chekov is the main enemy.

It will be fairly challenging.

You will be going against squads of Constitution class ships like the Enterprise, and the damage modeling on them looks sweet.

You fighters are based off of Klingon and Romulan designs, as well as Star Fleet.

More of an acrade style then a flight sim, lots of action.

Chekov's the bad guy huh? Damn ruskies.

I've read very little on it but I'm assuming you'll be able to play as the evil federation right? (I hope I hope I hope)

Of course if you're going against a good Sulu, shouldn't he be in the Excellsior? (being nit-picky. )

I'm glad this game is finally being finished and released. It was supposed to come out like 2 years ago, but it seemed to be in "development hell" for a while before it finally slipped off the radar. I think it was turned over to another company to finish development when the first one went bankrupt or something. I may be wrong, though.

Either way, I've been looking forward to this game for a while so I really hope it's not as bad as it could be.

Maybe in multiplayer, but I'm not sure

Actually, I think they said he is. But when you're playing it is in a one person fighter. I'm not sure if there are any missions with you commanding a full sized star ship.

But any way, it seems like a good idea for a game, and they seem to like the gameplay as well. So I'm letting myself get excited about it.
