Rockstar Games has announced Serious Sam: The Lost Levels for the GameCube!

According to N-Philes, Rockstar Games has announced Serious Sam: The Lost Levels for the GameCube! Right now the word is that the game is indeed an enhanced version of the first game, with added levels, features, and four player multiplayer! We hope to bring you more on Serious Sam: The Lost Levels, as soon as we can, seeing that it is scheduled for release on the GameCube in the first quarter of 2004.
------

At least Rockstar is giving Gamecube owners something, was the serious Sam on X-Box any good?

Yah, serious sam on the xbox was good, well worth the asking price... was brainless and fun.

I hope they put the price point on this one super low like they did for the xbox version though, serious sam has always been a sort of poor mans game, and it should stay that way

Kinda weird. First of all Serious Sam isn't a Rockstar game, though its made by a company under the same umbrella that owns Rockstar (Gotham Games). Second, Gotham is currently working on Serious Sam 2 for PC and XBOX w/ Live support - why would they both releasing a port of 1 this late in the game for Gamecube?

They are making GTA for XBOX because the exclusivity contract with Sony finally allowed for it at this point. There was no Serious Sam exclusive, nor is there any on Serious Sam 2 that I know of (while there is one on GTA4). SS2 should be done by mid 2004, so why bother porting the first?

I've had Serious Sam 2 : The Second Encounter for a couple years, now.

Heh. Serious Sam 2 according to Gotham is not The Second Encounter despite the naming misnomer. The Second Enconter was just an expansion pack for Serious Sam 1 that turned out to be more. Gotham said that they want to call the next Serious Sam "Serious Sam 2," as it is the true sequel to the first game and its expansion pack. For XBOX and GC, this will work as SS and TSE are bundled together as Serious Sam 1. For PC, it may be more difficult, but odds are they will still call it Serious Sam 2.

I will try once more to explain it. Serious Sam is old. Very old. It was even old when it came to XBOX. Serious Sam 2 will be out in 6 months, probably Q2 or Q3 2004. Why waste devtime on Serious Sam 1 when the second one will be out 1-3 months after the scheduled release of Gamecube's Serious Sam 1?

P.S. - I have no need to jab the Gamecube or protect the XBOX. Nintendo and Microsoft determine how well their products do, not I.

no, u do not have to jab the gamecube to protect the xbox to determine sales
but you do it anyway...

rockstar is trying to get their games on as many platforms as possible... all your technicalities don't amount to anything. reasons for this reasons for that...

i see thru about 99.9% of your posts... you post like you're a well-meaning guy, but most members on this board see thru that.

why would they both releasing a port of 1 this late in the game for Gamecube?

because for some reason companies think that GC owners like old ports of sub-standard games. it always happens, and then said companies blame nintendo for the game selling poorly. der.
