Specifically, the X-Box version? Is is anything like Ghost Recon, cuz I rented GR: IT and I thought it was unadulterated poo. I hated the way the controls felt. RS3 any better?
P.S. Blackbelt Jones, I know you be readin' this, and I aint forgots about yo PM!!! |

. We have it on the OXM demo disc, so we will spin it up this weekend. According to the Mag (or rather an interview with a guy who won the Rainbox "XBOX Live" championship in France last month... I guess they were playing a pre-release version), it has a totally different feeling than GR... which I take to be a good thing? |

There are some details here:
Rainbow Six®: Raven Shield. I played a demo disc level and am very impressed, I posted some thoughts on it in the above thread. |

Ha! That's pretty cool, I must say, the ole' voice recognition. Shiloh, have you played Counter-Strike on the PC? Is the RS3 experience anything akin to that? And would it be fair to say that RS3's movement/controls is closer to Halo's than to Ghost Recon's?
Oh, hell. I'm off to Blockbuster to see if they've managed to put it on the shevles yet. ![]() |

Man. Blockbuster sucks when it comes to getting new game releases. Oh well, trying out Wolfenstein for my FPS fix tonight.
And yes, I can already see the smirk on my girlfriend's face as I am explaining how cool it is that my men, um, do what I tell them... er... on my orders... Though she is as addicted as anyone to the ole 'Box... ![]() |

This game kicks ass plain and simple. Best Clancy game yet! Gameplay is very different from Ghost Recon (far more focused on you giving orders to your squad and devising strategies to approach situations, while GR has some of that element but focuses more on surviving once you are in a firefight).

I'm probably gonna have to pick this one up. I really liked GR:IT, so I bet I'll love this.

Rainbow Six 3 is alright. I'm disappointed with it. The voice recognition doesn't work as well as I thought it would. Sometimes I have to repeat something four or five times before the A.I. recognizes what I said. There's a few bugs too. The framerate likes to stutter quite a bit. Not slowdown but stutter. It's like in Halo when it has to load part of the level and it stops or stalls for just a second. It does that a lot in R6:3. Also, the game crashed on me last night. I was in the middle of a firefight and all of a sudden the game goes to a loading screen then takes me back to the main menu. I've talked to other people about these bugs and the same thing has happened to them. So, it's not just me.
Other than those few things, the game is fun but I still like Ghost Recon better. I'm a bigger fan of taking some unlucky bastard out from hundreds of yards away instead of getting up close and personal in urban settings. The one thing that I can never get enough of in R6:3 is the rag doll effects. It's so great seeing someone dropping like a rock after taking several rounds from an assault rifle. One thing I still can't believe is how Ubisoft left out the option to change the firing mode on the weapons. Since when has a MP5, H&K G3A3 or M-16 only been full auto? |

I loved Ghost Recon, but I enjoy the (seemingly) faster pace of RS3 more. It took me a little bit but the game responds perfectly to everything I say with the only exception being "move". I'm still working on it though. I'm going to hone my skills on single player a little bit more then jump in on some live games.

My headset copy finally arrived today and I have to say I've been having fun using the voice communicator, great idea and makes it even more immersive. Just a shame they don't always understand me:
"Move...." "Holding position sir!" ![]() Now waiting for SWAT: Global Strike Team, also uses voice commands and has co-op mode on single Xbox. |

I've completed the campaign on Recruit.
The weapons are smart and the detail, sound, and effects that go with them are sweet. The voice commands are a great idea and keep the flow of play going, but they don't always respond. I found they responded better if I talked slower. Definitely a game that has been designed for use on Live more so IMO. Thumbs up for this one though. |

Picked this up a while back and I'm just now getting into it. For some reason, this game is kicking my ass! Ninja Gaiden isn't giving me a problem, but this think likes to kick me in the nuts and giggle... still lovin' it though
The voice recognition sucks for me, as I have a slight slur and lisp in my voice unless I really try... the buttons work PERFECTLY fine though... two clicks and you can do almost whatever you want. Great game! Can't wait to play it online... |

So my advice to you Moogle, is to try and play it with people on your friends list first. You'll have a much more rewarding experience. KM |
