UT 2004 Special Edition Avaliblity? - DVDfile.com forum for DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD

I've been trying to find a copy of Unreal Tournament 2004 Special Edition all weekend long and have had no luck what so ever. Even worse, most stores say that they're not expecting to recieve any more shipments at all!

Now, I did have this pre ordered, through Mediaplay. Unfortunatley the release date came and went (they're supposed to call you when they get it in), and when I went to the store to ask if they had a copy, they said "I'm sorry we never planned to stock those in the first place." I'm desperatley resisting the urge to burn the store down. Wish me luck.

I was really looking foreward to using those training vids to get into modding the game. The headset I can live without. The 6 CD's are an annoyance, but I can live with it. The training vids are something you just can't find anywhere else though.

So now that Mediaplay screwed my preorder, and all stores are sold out of their copies, am I completely out of luck? Do I have to pay $200 on Ebay for a copy? Any info you guys have will be much appreicated.

I'm pretty sure it was a one time deal. I got mine with no preorder from a Gamestop. The game is amazing. I didn't even realize the training videos were on there....I'll never use them, but they're good to have. I just wanted the game on a DVD.

Good luck finding one. ebay might be your only option.

I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that they only made a limited number of the DVDs and that they are indeed sold out...I guesss try eBay

I will say that the CD-Rom version works great and did not take that long at all to install...maybe like 5-10 minutes.
