Xbox 20 Minutes Ago I was Insanely Stupid...

MooglePorn is now, for the third fucking time, the proud owner of an XBOX console. Who's to blame? Most likely Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, screens of which made me want to play the original. I put the disc in my trusty PS2, the first time I have played it on the PS2 BTW, and lo and behold... the game sucks. Now, maybe if you never played the XBOX version it would be okay... but if you have... well, no fucking way.

So in any event, the forum was slow, and I thought I'd throw this out... let people mock me.

Games I got:
Splinter Cell
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Grand Theft Auto 2-Pack

Games I will get as soon as my wallet recovers:
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition

Any reccomends? I've been ignoring the XBOX for a while now, trying not to get tempted... is that Deus EX any good?

Man, I think Knights of the Old Republic is the most kick ass game I have ever played.... I would pick it up over Morrowind.

We love the hell out o' Project Gotham 2 as well... and now it's only $40; for $20, Mech Assault is a steal.

Those r my p1x.

Seacrest out!

I had the normal version of Morrowind before and loved the shit out of it... despite some boredom near the end. Now that it has all new stuff in it, I am very excited to get it back. The reason I didn't get it today was because I got Champions of Norrath recently on the PS2 and I preffer to play one RPG at a time. I did like Star Wars KOTR, but not nearly as much as everyone else... I've never been a huge fan of Star Wars to begin with... I will get it back eventually though.

If you get live, Rainbow 6 is the hot ticket right now.

I don't know about that... if MS lose money on every Xbox sold, then Moogle's cost them three times as much as those of us who only ever bought one.

But, the more systems he sells, the higher the installed base number he can give to developers to get those exclusives. It's all good.

That's only if he's been buying them "new"... used means nothing to anyone.

True. I was assuming he was doing his patriotic duty and buying new.

Are you saying I'm unpatriotic for only buying used?

What have I bought new for my GameCube?
Three controllers (2 Wavebirds, 1 corded Spice)
Mario Kart : Double Dash
Game Boy Player
Two 56 memory cards, one 1019 card.

So, I guess only the console itself and the other games (~12) are used. I'm not that unpatriotic at all!

You aren't unpatriotic, you are just missing out on the fresh game smell

I did buy new... the EB used one ended up being $129.99, and it even had the original controller... I figured it was worth the $20 to have a new console (especially with all the problems first-gen XBOX's had).

I know everyone is suggesting KOTOR, but I'm telling ya... something about that game bugged me when I had it before. It's only $25 at Wal-Mart though... I'll probably pick it up and see.

I got HALO today at Best Buy for $19.99... couldn't pass that up. I picked up some old XBOX Magazines at Toy's R Us and got some demos... Crimson Skies is pretty fucking sweet (and only $30), Deus Ex seems amazing despite some loading annoyance (better in the final game?)...Project Gotham Racing 2 seems very... overrated. But who knows. I think I'm ok with Need For Speed on my PS2...

Halo will always be an awesoem game. Crimson Skies i have yet to buy but i have played it several times at work on the movie screen and i just loved every moment i got to play it. RGR2 is ok single player but once you get it on XBox Live . . . . its a whole different story.

So congrats and enjoy your new toy

Once you get into the Project Gotham Racing series, it is incredible. Unlike other racers, it makes you race with both style and speed. So, you have to decide how much time you can spend powersliding versus racing towards the finish line, all the while not hitting the wall to mess up your style. Quite cool and once you are finished with it, its almost like you feel like you've acquired a new skill in life

Okay... picked up Deus Ex: Invisible War and the game is so good it's mind-blowing... I love it. Slowdown? Yeah. Long loading screens? Yeah... but I don't care. It's Morrowind crossed with Shadowrun (SNES) and it makes me giggle with glee... worth owning an XBOX for alone, IMO.

I also got Morrowind GOTYE, but I won't really get into that until I beat Deus Ex...

In case anyone cares I discovered my Live account still works and I can use it without the software... all I had to do was have the credit card number I used... cool! I don't have a headset, so playing is out, but I downloaded all sorts of cool stuff, and I'm hoping I can still find a copy of Rainbow Six 3 that comes with the headset, as I wanted that game anyway...
