Xbox Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow

"Ubisoft has today announced the development of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow for the Xbox. Currently scheduled for release in August, the game will be one of the first to take advantage of Microsoft's new Xbox Live 3.0 features, which include user-created tournaments, messaging, and clan statistics.

"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 has owned Xbox Live for months now. Gamers can't get enough of the incredible online experience. We're giving them more of what they crave, and [we're] improving Xbox Live play by integrating new multiplayer modes and [by] being one of the first out of the gate with new Xbox Live features," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubisoft. "A new split-screen feature for offline co-op play will significantly enhance the offline replay value of the game, and the awesome online capabilities will deliver even more hours of thrilling, intense gameplay."

Black Arrow's campaign mode will once again see players assuming command of the four-man Team Rainbow squad, and they'll be able to issue voice commands to their colleagues using an Xbox Live headset. The game's plot focuses on a group of terrorists that has made repeated attempts to kidnap telemetry and rocket scientists so that it might develop weapons of mass destruction. It's up to Team Rainbow to both stop the terrorists and prevent a potential conflict in the oil-rich regions around the Black Sea.

In addition to the campaign, Black Arrow will boast a number of multiplayer gameplay options, including "capture the point" and "capture the flag," as well as those found in Rainbow Six 3. Also new to the game will be an option for players to discuss tactics and strategies in private team-lobbies before taking part in online matches.

We'll bring you more information on Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow as soon as it becomes available.

I like the idea of an offline split-screen co-op mode .

I look forward to checking out the finished product.

ALWAYS a plus. I liked XBOX Live a good bit when I had it, but frankly I am not in a huge hurry to re-purchase it. Co-op mode would be a big incentive for me.

I'm very happy about the additions of objective based modes. Team Survival is getting a little old now.

The game looks sweet and the new offline coop split screen mode is a plus. I wonder if its gonna be like the pc version were you can choose from any weapon you want for the missions? that would really be great.

Well, in Rainbow Six 3 for xbox you can choose your weapons for the missions, so I would assume you'll be able to in Black Arrow. But the xbox versions of this game are totally different than the pc version.

New Map

Well sorry for updating a pretty old thread but has anyone been playing the game lately? As they have just released a new free downloadable map for the game yesturday called Village Which i thought was ok at first but its a pretty nicely balanced map for all skill levels. Plenty of sniping areas for you and WTF sniping moments on you as well. But some great close combat is sure to be had as well, as its not a huge map and not a small par either its almost a perfect fit for a group of 6+ people. Well worth the space on the XBox hard drive

6+ people? What would it be like with 16? The group I usually play with generally have 16 people events, or does this map not support that many?

I guess I'll find out tonight, I've got a game of Retrieval scheduled. I'll report back with my impressions too.
