Magic Pengel - The Quest For Color

After sitting on the shelf for months I finally cracked the seal on Magic Pengel. After about 1 1/2 hours worth of play, I think it's safe to say this game is pretty awesome. The core gameplay consists of drawing "Doodles" to battle.

The Doodle creation system is nicely done. You can rotate your Doodles and add legs, arms, horns, etc. As you battle, you unlock more parts and colors.

The battle system is fun too. It plays like a game of rock/paper/scissors. Magic beats attack, attack beats block, block beats magic, and everything beats charge, (though you recover HP and your attacks gain power when you use charge.) The catch is you can't use the same attack twice in a row. So if your opponent just used block, you know you should be using magic during your next turn.

Here's Agetec's Magic Pengel page.

$14.99 "preplayed" at EBGames.com.
