Ditto. Just started actually. Also just started Splinter Cell Double Agent. It's hard to play one and go to the other though.

Also downloaded the 360 demo for Ghost Recon AW 2. Pretty cool but I keep getting killed. Damn Terrorists.

Just got Crackdown for the 360. Hopefully the achievements are easy to get so I can get the rewards.

Gosh, I'm so glad that this is what gaming has come down to.

I wanted to get this game anyway because it looked (and after playing it a few hours is) enjoyable. I wanted the easy achievements because of the Microsoft giveaway. Thats the only reason. I feel achievements are a great way to keep me interested in a game I would normally dismiss after a few hours.

I don't usually post in this thread, but I wanted to extoll the virtues of my latest love:

New Super Mario Bros. for Nintendo DS

This game is just... it's basically my childhood, upgraded with some spiffy new graphics and features to ensure the rose-colured glasses stay rose coloured, and re-packaged into a tiny DS cartridge.

I love everything about it. From the old-school gameplay, to the SMB3-style world map, to the graphical upgrades, to the new features (giant Mario anyone?), to how Mario says "buy-bye" if I close the lid and go into standby mode.

It's simply brilliant, and most definitely a killerapp for the DS (which doesn't really need any killerapps.) If you loved the original games for the NES, New Super Mario Bros. is definitely worth buying a DS for.

I agree. I look at achievements as the new version of trying to beat the high score in older games. I see nothing wrong with getting some extra mileage out of a game because you're trying to get an elusive achievement. It's fun to do, and that's what gaming is mostly about.

WarioWare, STAT!

I've been playing a lot of Crackdown and flOw lately, as well as some Resistance on hard mode and Oblivion to prepare for this month's Shivering Isles expansion.

How's Elebits? I've rarely seen such a polarization in reviews and user feedback. I might have to... GASP... rent a game.

It's a very simple, very silly game, but it's the first time where I really feel like the pointer is responsive. Perhaps I just haven't played enough games. The Ghostbusters-esque "grab gun" is cool, though.

So far I'm enjoying it. I'm still in the first town, though. I assume it gets more interesting at some point.

I beat Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, which was a really freakin' awesome game.

Also crankin' some Motorstorm which I think has the best next-gen visuals out there, especially in the racer category.

Playing someOblivion as well to prepare for next week's expansion.

I haven't been in here for a while, so many games have passed since my last post but at the moment I'm hooked on Crackdown, have touched on GRAW 2 a little (will play properly when I've completed Crackdown) and am still playing Rainbow Six Vegas online.

I've got Call of Duty 3 and Lost Planet to complete and have got lots to do it MotoGP '06, which I haven't played since last year.

I totally agree. I'm glad someone else here is playing it. It's sad that this is the first game to go in my PS3 since Resistance. It is absolutely amazing. It is worth picking up a PS2 just to play it (although I would start with the first one).

Finally beat God of War II. I cannot wait for the next one!

Anyway...

Trauma Center Second Opinion (Wii) 6/10
Once you've done one Esophagectomy, you've done them all.

Rayman: Raving Rabbits (Wii) 7/10
These mini-games start to hurt after a while.

Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (Wii) 7/10
I think it'll be a while before a game like this is fun for the Wii.

Super Paper Mario is great looking and sounding, but I guess I was expecting more platformer in my platformer.

Super Paper Mario (Wii)
I like it so far, but I really wish they'd stop putting stories into these games.

Just let me play like the old Mario.

Yeah, reviews praise the story as funny, but I think it's just lame. And there's no platforming! I bought it because I thought it was a platformer, and it's more an RPG with a horrid story.

Bleh. Huge dissapointment.

Dragon Quest VIII. I normally hate JRPG's, but a lot of people recommend I give this one a try, and to my utter shock I'm in love with it. I've clocked about 22 hours on it so far, and I'm probably not even halfway through the story. Just a fantastic game in every respect.
