It's a pile of shit working on ROMs. You're better off emulating at home.

Is it even legal? I see this all the time and can't help but wonder.

I doubt it is. At first I thought it could have been Nintendo licensed but there's such a wide variety of games that there is no way that could be possible.

Off the top of my head I've seen Mario, Duck Hunt, and Contra. Right there is Nintendo and Konami. The odds of a handful of publishers coming together to support such a device is slim to none. (And if it did happen, that thing wouldn't look so damn cheap.)

What do you mean when you say it's a piece of shit? Do they break easily? Do they really store the entire game or just part of it?

Meaning they're making money by pirating games.

If you're going to emulate a game, do it the American way - free. Don't pay some other company to break the law for you. Do it yourself.

I have the Atari classics one where it's just a controller, two buttons and a power switch and it came loaded with like four original games including Pac Man. If they are releasing this things with Nintendo games I seriously doubt they are illegal. I got my unit at Walmart for like $20.00 and I play the hell out of it.

All those games were made and published by Atari themselves. The Nintendo games are from different publishers. Therein lies the legality issue.

I have yet to see the Nintendo device of which they speak.

Believe me, it's a piece of shit. Pirated low-budget bullshit. There's a kiosk at Briarwood that's hawking these things. 76,000 games in one! And even that's a lie. There are maybe six or eight games you'll recognize and fifty more piece-of-shit import games repeated ad seventysixthousandum.

The Atari/Namco/Sega joysticks are entirely legal and manufactured by reputable companies.
