I've been playing a bit on Live! lately, and I was asked to be "friends" by a few folks. At first I thought it was pretty cool.
Now, I'm annoyed. Everytime I log onto my computer, I get 80,000 alerts popping up "One-time buddy is playing XBox Dashboard" followed by "One-time buddy is playing Rainbow 6 3". I'm tired of it! But, I DO want to know when my real friends are on. So, I don't want to just kill my alerts. Can I just discretely remove these people from my firends list? Will they know? They were fun to play with, but... Meh. I just feel odd about it.

They won't get an alert that you've removed them from your friends list, but by removing them from yours you also remove yourself from theirs. So if they happen to look for you on their list and you're not there, they'll know you removed them.
I wouldn't worry about it myself. My advice is to prune away until your heart's content. With only 100 spots available on a friends list I consistently fill mine up and have to prune fairly often. People can always be re-added later. KM |
