PC Sims 2 is out - Except At Circuit City? Are They Homophobic?

I thought I'd ask on here, 1. If anybody got Sims 2, and 2. Did they get it or see it at Circuit City. I was scouting for it this evening going to my usual spots - Best But, Fry's, and Circuit City. Since I'm strapped on cash and haven't maxed my Circuit City card, this was the only place I can get it right now. But when I didn't find it at the store I asked on of the many high school employees there and they told me that they will not be selling it - AT ALL. I inquired as to why and he said that's all he was told.

Now I'm getting this for my wife who's the really big Sims player in the house. She peruses the EA site everyday in anticipation for this release. For those who are in the know, know all about the new changes to the game. One of the biggest ones is the fact that you can have same-sex couples in this. Personally I think that's fine. But for the life of me, I cannot see why Circuit City won't stock this product unless it's for this reason. All the new additions to the game are far more tamer.

Just so you know, Circuit City doesn't even have it on their website. BUT, they still have the original Sims and all the expansion packs for sale at the stores and online. Anybody know anything about this? I'm not wanting to start any kind of debate on this, and for all I care, if that's Circuit City's policy then fine. I just find it kind of odd.....

That's curious. I bought my copy of 'Bound' there.

My guess is several fold

1- PC games are not doing well except in specialty shops, CC is likely phasing them out outside of the bargain-style titles
2- EA would not give them the terms on it they wanted(aka big discounts so they can major loss leader it), so they decided not to carry it.
3- Like many games, it's on the slow boat to the major retailers

I use to work at a Circuit City and PC games were the last thing that company gives a shit about. My store had them way in the back, they were disorganized and everything else. Plus, we usually got new games about a week late, and that goes for all systems. People would come in wanting the new game and we didnt get it until a week after it came out. So maybe check next week.

You want a new TV, go to Circuit City, you want games go to EBgames or Gamestop.
