Xbox Oddworld Stranger now back to being Xbox exclusive

Well, I'm not sure how many people here might care to know this, but EA has stated that the PS2 version of Oddworld Inhabitants' newest game has been dropped, and it will now only see life on the Xbox. The word is that the PS2 version needed several more months of development to bring it in line with the Xbox version, and EA apparently didn't want to wait around that long, nor did they want to release them at different times. I really enjoyed Munch's Oddysee, and I've been greatly anticipating this one for some time, so if this means my wait will be shortened, then yeah for me.

Anyway, here is the great and terrible IGN News link:

I think it is a mistake to not bring Oddworld back to it's roots, sales wise, but I can understand EA not wanting to wait and spend extra money with a developer that does not have any PS2 experience

Lorne Lanning said that all of the PS2 conversion stuff was being done by another developer for EA, and that it was just taking longer than anticipation and was costing more, and with the Xbox version damn near done, it didn't make any sense to hold off on it, nor stagger the releases. I'm sure it was a tough call for EA to make.
