I was the first one of my friends to get the first COD cause everyone thought it was just another WW2 game. I let them sit down and play the very first level where you set up the radio beacon and all hell breaks loose (it's kinda like you start the war almost lol). The they all went out and got COD. If I think my machine will handle this I'll definately get it.

My favorite game of 2004. I was sceptical as well when I first heard about it since I'm really not into FPS's anymore let alone WW2 FPS's. But once I tried the demo I was hooked. I'll make sure my machine has enough horsepower to play the sequel.

I would expect to see this as an XBOX2 and PS3 game early in 2006, for those who don't have a viable PC to run it on.

See again I just can't see playing a game like this on the console. I Saw Rising Sun on the xbox and was severly underwhelmed by the visuals and gameplay. If I can't run this on my PC I ain't playing it.

Rising Sun was a horrible rush job of a game on consoles. Do not use it to compare PC to console ports, or console FPS in general. Unfortunately, a lot of PC to console ports end up this way. Still, there are a lot of good console FPS that are every bit as good as what one sees on a PC. I agree a mouse and keyboard is a preferable way to usually play a FPS, but games like GoldenEye, Halo 1/2, the Doom3 port, and others have certainly got the feeling down right. If more companies took the time to get the control down right like these companies (as well as the pgrahics), I doubt we'd hear as much complaining.

I got wood. The demo for Call of Duty 2 is now available.
Link to the games main website. From there you can link to various download sites. It's a 600 meg download.

Decent demo, although too big a download considering the length of the demo. Played very much like the first game, although it is much prettier.

I really enjoyed it. I can tell it's a bit harder then the original was. You're right, huge download for a demo that you can beat inside of five to ten minutes.

I expected the same thing on my home machine which is just a 2.4 with an nVidia 5700 graphics card but it ran great. Not at the best settings obviously but it still played very well and looked ok so I'm excited.

I picked it up this weekend so I could play it on one of the new systems I'm developing.
This game kicks ass in every direction. I couldn't stop playing it. I've gone through the Russian, British and American campaigns and now i'm back with the Brits. I have a TON of screen shots I'll be posting in a bit.
I already can't wait for the inevitible expansion pack.

I thought this was mostly a multiplayer game. Is it worth picking up if you're not interested in playing with other people over the internet?

NO! It has a multiplayer part to it but it's mostly a full on campaign game.
Run don't walk to your nearest Best Buy, Walmart, Circuit City or where ever and get it. Most awsome game!

It's Battlefield that is a multiplayer only game, for the most part. Call of Duty is like a better version of Medal of Honor. I want this game, but I never played the first, so I'll pick that up first, when I'm done with Half-Life 2.

Yup, you're right, that's what I was thinking of. Battlefield 2 looks really cool, but it's basically an internet game.

Yeah. The premise of that sounds super-awesome, but everytime I try to play an internet game I get too annoyed with tech issues and other people to keep playing. The idea of a huge war or town where everyone is "real" only works when people go with the allusion, instead of acting like the immature twits they are.

I play games to get away from kids (and people acting like kids)...that's why I just can't get into internet gaming. That and I just don't spend enough time getting good enough to compete with hard core players.

But like Moog said, it's only fun if everyone is trying to be part of the experience.

I used to try playing RTS games online...what a joke. People just rush you with out any thoughts of strategy or, more importantly, FUN. Destroying someone in the first 10 minutes of a game isn't fun. --a long, drawn out battle across epic periods of time, now that's fun and what the games are generally designed for.
