OXM Demo - Doom3, Pariah, Psychonauts, DarkWatch

What a great disc this month! First, Psychonauts (sp?) is probably one of the trippiest games ever conceived. What a blast it was to play just one level. I will pick it up, like I do all games now, when it hits $30 or less.

Doom3 is fun, and since I've never played the PC version of it, this was my first flirtation. It reminded me a great deal of the first time playing Resident Evil back on the PS. It gets the mood and tension better than any FPS in recent memory (Alien vs. Predator 2 would be a good comparison).

Pariah is a blast, and in many ways that one level made me think of what I wish Halo had been. Just a fun outdoor jaunt with enemies who flank you and some definite fun with the grenade launcher. Again, another solid FPS.

I have not played DarkWatch yet, but the trailer certainly looks interesting. Pariah is the sort of demo you can play multiple times, so I probably will.

Definitely worth picking up the demo.

Warning, Pariah looked good to me too but the reviews I have read state it takes about 6 hours to finish, it's so short. For me that means $20 at the most. Online seems to have been their focus.

If anyone has trouble getting Darkwatch to load, go to the xbox dashboard and change the date to march 1 and restart the demo disk.
