You know what I miss? NextGen

Seriously that was the best damn gaming magazine there ever was. I loved every part of it. One of the best features they ever did was the Top 100 games of All Time. It was the shit.

Who's with me?

It was good, but the best game magazine ever for me was GameFan. It just had such a unique vibe to it that no other magazine has ever touched. Even the graphic design was years ahead of other magazines (and honestly, they still haven't touched it). Just a great magazine.

My fav was always Ultra Gaming Player Monthly (UGM) I loved the reviews and the overall layout of the magazine. The crew wa sgreat an unbiased about everything and were great to read their letters section (almost Maxim like in responses) But they then changed their name and after 4 issues of the new magazine they folded

Now the only Gaming Magazine i buy monthly is EGM. Like the old layout before this new design but they are still a hell of a lot better then GamePro (although the GamePro show from years back KICkED ASS!!!!)

During my "own them all" days I too liked NextGen, but my favorite was always EGM. Good articles, trusted reviews by three seperate people you could compare your style to. Excellence.

I can't buy magazines that cover all the systems anymore though, because it makes me want games I can't play. I just pick up Official XBOX Magazine when the demos look great and get my news off the net.

I miss Compute!

I still have the November 1991 x386 roundup issue, though.
