Picked this up today after trading in some old games (Spring cleaning, doncha love it), and was able to put in about an hour and a half on it. So far, I love it. The characters are quirky, the designs are very Tim Burtonish, the dialogue is very funny, the voice acting is tops, the music is wonderful (reminds me of Voodoo Vince in that regard, another game with a great soundtrack), and the gameplay itself is nice and tight. I've heard the game is short, but I don't mind that if the quality is high, and so far this one has me enthralled.

I'm a big Tim Schafer fan, so I'm looking forward to trying this out soon. I'm torn between just getting the PC version or waiting for the PS2, but I'm going to get to it one way or the other.
How are the puzzles?

It sounds really interesting Reaver, but I've never heard of it. What type of gameplay is it? Does it handle well on the 'Box or would it be a better PC purchase? (Although my computer is rapidly approaching "no-more-new-games-for-you" status.)

I played the PC demo of it, and Psychonauts is definitely a console game. The controls are much more intuitive and tight. Also, the game models look much more cohesive on my Xbox. This is a game I would not play on the PC or the PS2.

Psychonauts is a great game! I'd been looking forward to this game since it was first announced and, although I haven't finished it yet, I'm not disappointed. Really creative level design, great dialogue, beautiful, odd art direction - it's a must buy for any platformer fan!

Okay, so I was reading some reviews about this game, and found out it was the brain-child of the makers of Grim Fandango...Holy crap, the game just got on my short list faster than I knew possible.
I loved Grim Fandango, even play it occasionally today. For those that don't know, it's hard to describe, but it's made by the quirky Lucasarts department. Not the people that make Star Wars games, but the old school computer guys that brought out Monkey Island and all kinds of other weird shit. They're fantastic games once you get into them, despite they're strange scenarios. Much like what Reaver is talking about with Psychonauts. I definitely have to try this one out.

This game just gets better and better and better! I love how each level is unique and wholy unto itself. I love all the little nooks and crannies where treasures hide. I love the plethora of powers, I love the graphics, I love the music, I love the voice acting, and I love the story. This is probably one of the best games I've seen in years. It is pure MAGIC.
