Star Wars Ep III - The Game

Okay. Episode III is gonna be a hyooge let-down despite teh promising trailers and incredible potential. I know this.

Which is what makes the game that much cooler. The game has the same pace as a movie! It feels like a movie! And it feels like a good movie.

I think if I had seen the movie first, the game would suck more. But I'm seeing the game with a clean slate - actually, a hype-saturated slate - and I can see it for the good it is. It's fun. It's fast. It's relatively easy. I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

Side Note:
The game is chock-a-block with clips from the movie. How many rabid fans bought the game as a sneak-peek? How much is Lucas making by releasing the game before the movie? He's a money-making juggernaut, that man is.

It looked really fun to me, much like Star Wars Lego. Unfortunately, it also looked like I could beat it in a weekend and probably play it little or never after that. I plan on waiting until it hits a lower price.

rent it, while i am a star wars geek, this game has very little replayability once you beat it. you can unlock most everything the first time through, but the co op if you can call it that is very short, all four can be beat in half an hour, and the extra mission are about the same, so there really isnt any reason to hold on to it. I would give it a play because the gameplay is fun, but once you beat it your done, i payed thirty for mine on a preorder with some trade ins, traded back in with a few games and got 40 bucks, so i actually made money of it, was almost happy it was such a short game

Re: Star Wars Ep III - The Game

Yeah I wished I had rented this. It was great fun for a while, a little frustrating at times but fun none the less. I like the actual fil clips and the game engine cut scenes keep the story moving along. The game does take the same path as the movie, it just expands on some of the fight scenes a bit. The really fun part is the 5 or 6 bonus missions you unlock and you can play both sides of the final Obi-Wan and Anakin duel.

I would say you could definately get through this game in a weekend and definately a rental period. It's very short and somewhat easy, there are some big fights that will cause some frustration but then again maybe my button mashing isn't what it used to be.

I'll buy this eventually, but won't repeat my mistake with Enter the Matrix. That was a decent game, very fun at times but yeah...once you beat it a couple times, unlock everything, there really ain't much to go back to.

This latest Star Wars game seems very similar in its replayability, so I'll try to wait (emphasis on try) till the price comes down to 30-35 bucks and then I'll snatch it.

Rent it. Theres nearly no unlockables. Just a few extra levels and some dueling characters. Shoulda put this game in the hype thread too. Fun but a disappointment for sure.

I'm glad this game came out BEFORE the movie. That way I didn't waste my money. I looked at reviews and what all you guys are saying is very similar: easy and no replay value. I'll probably give it a rent after seeing Episode III

I rented it and just started playing it. After about twenty minutes of play I was finished with the elevator level and the game locked up. It as loading the next level but it never actually loaded it. I'll try again in a bit to see if it'll move past that part.

Soooo....uhm..I played and finished the game in one sitting today. I've NEVER done that in the more then twenty years of playing video games.
It was fun. Not a LOT of re-playability unless I want to go after some of the secrets I missed...which I don't really care to.
It was an ok game. A bit tooooo easy.

After playing the Obi-Wan/Anakin duel did you go back and play that duel as Anakin?

No I didn't. But I used a cheat code to unluck the final movie so I'm assuming that's what you got to see if beat Obi-Wan as Anakin.

My cousin showed me it on the PS2 and it looked like fun, but I'm waiting for it to drop in price and then I might get it for my Xbox.

Dude seriously, don't buy it. Rent it for a weekend you can dedicate yourself fully to it. You'll finish it.

And, as I've no desire to replay it, what do you get to see if you win as Anakin?

Spoiler (Highlight or Triple Click to Read):
Anakin's flip over the top of Obi-Wan yields him a saber blow though Obi-Wans mid-section. (Some how)
As he's greeted and congratulated for his fine work by the emporer he whips his saber out and cuts the emporers head off and turns around and yells something about his empire or some shit like that as two rows of clone troopers look on.
the end.
