I haven't played an RTS game in awhile because frankly I got sick of 'em but this one just might bring me back to the genra.

It's sounding good. I played Rebellion a lot because even with it's major flaws, it was fun. This could be that much better. It might also force me to finally upgrade my computer.

I pretty much ONLY play RTS games, so I'm especially looking forward to this.

I was huge into blizzard RTSes (Warcrafts and Starcrafts (I want Starcraft 2 damnit!)), but never really got into them all that much. Part of it might be because I was not very good. I will second the opinion that that Star Wars Battleground RTS was not very good. This one looks like it could be good though! I will be keeping my eye on this one.

So I just saw this game being played at the SD ComicCon and it looks very promising. It was a pretty early build with some serious bugs (not being able to see the enemies Imp Star Destroyers) but it looked really great and seemed pretty quick and easy to use. They couldn't be too concrete, but the guy said probably a minimum of 1GHz machine with a Geforce3 or better card with 256MB of memory. So it sounds not too bad on the system requirements.
They were letting people take turns playing a 1 on 1 game eithe rin space or on land. The space battles were very 2 dimensional limited which I guess was a choice for ease of use. Still waiting for that great 3D SW space combat game I guess.

I actually thought the release was going to be late 2005...after checking gamespot. They list it as November 1st 2005. I love this game, I nearly yelled in joy when I heard this was being made. I loved SW Rebellion, even though most people didn't and it looks like it will be a little bit of that and a little bit of galactic battlegrounds, which was also good. Very excited for this.

RTS's are one of my favorite genres and its too bad this game got pushed back until Feb of next year, i was really looked forward to it, thought it wont act like the typical RTS, or atleast not the Blizzard style which is my favorite, this game will act a lot like the Star Wars trading Card Game where by controlling planets you gain resources and certain special skills so that you can manufacture or train. It sound like its going to be a lot of fun, but as i said above, the delays killer, and most annoying is its not being delayed to fine tune the game, but because lucasarts supposedly doesnt want to flood the market with Star Wars game. oh come on, it would be nice to get a few more GOOD star wars games since we get so much crap, and since its an entirely untouched Genre for them, atleast in making something decent, and its on PC, its should matter. Its a bunch of crap!

Initial reviews are looking pretty good. Anybody actually buy and play this sucker yet? I too was a longtime C&C junkie till FPSs took over my computer since Counterstrike. This could definitely be the one that pulls me back to the dark side.

I bought it, installed it, and played over the training missions.
So far I'm a bit "meh" about it, but I haven't started the campaign yet, so we'll see how that goes.

ive played through the campaign and everything, but i havent done a galatic war, i enjoyed it, i figured out a formula and never lost a battle, so i dont know if that is good or bad. I am gonna invest some time soon in the skirmishes and things, its definately worth a play through and the best star wars rts yet
