Gamecube newbie recommendations

I just got a GC last week and I bought Resident Evil 4. Are there any other games that you fine people would recommend for a GC newbie? Here are the ones I've played so far:

Mario Tennis
Super Smash Brothers
Rouge Squadron II

Thanks

Everybody needs to have Eternal Darkness in their library-- one of the best survival horror games this generation. Metroid Prime and its sequel are fantastic games too, as long as you can deal with the contol scheme (alot of people agree that there should be a classic FPS control scheme available).

+ Zelda: The Wind Waker

Pikmin 2 (WHY is this still $50?)

The original Pikmin is great too, and should be available at budget pricing now. As for Wind Waker and Metroid Prime, I would suggest you rent first. I bought both of those immediately on release, and I regretted both purchases.

It really depends on what kind of game you like.

Arguably the best fighting game for the cube is Soul Calibur 2.

Both Prince of Persias are great if you like jump 'n run games.

I would definitely get the limited Zelda pack that also includes Ocarina of Time (still available on ebay).

Eternal Darkness is a must. So is Metroid Prime.

One of my favorite GC titles is the often overlooked Beyond Good and Evil. A great combination of adventure, stealth and action with beautiful graphics and music and a very original story.

The MGS-Remake Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is also a fine game. The graphics are a tad dated but the cutscenes more than make up for it.

Also worth checking out, for pure, unapologetic arcade fun: F-Zero GX, Time Splitters 2 (&3) and the two Viewtiful Joes.

I agree, but this one is not console exclusive and he may have already played it. Which makes me wonder:

Piratehunter, do you own another console? Besides the Gamecube? If yes, you could tell us what games you enjoy on it, and we can taylor our recommendations to that.

This one doesn't get nearly enough love, so I have to recommend:

P.N.03

Maybe. It depends on whether or not he has another console whether it was a good point.

Hmm, he seemed to ask for Cube recommendations. So, that's what he gets.

All the above games sound great, although I think with your first three Pirate you've already got plenty of great time spent there. The two Metroid games are fantastic adventure games, not FP shooters. Wind Waker will quickly suck your weekends away, and Mario Sunshine is worth a spin. It is easily one of the prettiest games I've ever seen, not as great as Mario 64 but still very solid (and much harder).

Thanks for the recommendations!

If you dug Rogue Squadron 2, pick up 3. Its only $10 at most places, and it has the 3 original Atari Arcade games unlockable, not 2600 games, Arcade games. Its nlot quite as good as RS2, but its definately fun, and theres more ships to fly this time like the Jedi Starfighter.

F-Zero FX is great

Animal Crossing is neet for a little, but its great to cheat and use codes to unlock classic NES titles
I only have a Gamecube so I'm always on the lookout for good games. The compilations by Namco, Midway, and the Sega Sonic ones are cool too. They make those for other systems to though
