If it's cheap I might pick it up, but the upcoming Stacked looks a lot better. That one is supposed to have a new improved A.I. that'll learn from how you play and make moves against you. All the computer poker games I've played have suffered from a lack of really interesting and challenging opponents, so I hope Stacked will go against this trend.

Quote:
STACKED's Championship Title career mode will let you battle head-to-head against six of poker's most exciting professional players. The game utilizes "Poki" Artificial Intelligence, a state-of-the-art evolving AI system that constantly adapts to your playing style in real-time. As the AI learns your weaknesses, you'll need to adjust your play to compensate. Hopefully you'll learn from experience and advance your poker skill set.
Pros in Stacked:

Daniel Negreanu, Evelyn Ng, Erick Lindgren, Jennifer Harmon, David Williams, Josh Arieh, Carlos Mortenson

Obviously, Jesus is in the WSOP game, and I've seen screenshots of Gus Hansen, but do you know any other pros in the game?

There's a few more poker games coming in the next so many months, including one with Howard Lederer involved, and I believe a WPT one as well.

According to IGN, EB Games and Gamespy, Stacked comes out October 10th for PS2 (well, the 11th on EB, but bascially the same thing). Gamestop lists it as September 13th. I'd believe the October date, since more places list it.

World Series of Poker is supposedly coming out on the PSP Sept. 13. I think I'll wait and pick up the portable version, provided it's the same game with the same features. There's not much information on this game out.

I suppose I just don't see the point of a dedicated poker game. I wouldn't mind a really good casino game that featured all the games, plus a 3D enviroment to wander around in, and maybe even a story more (some NES casino game had this).

Well, if they dedicate all of their resources to making the AI and interface really good, I could see it. Plus, poker's so hot right now who needs to add anything else?

I meant for me personally, I'd rather have all the games. But, yes, from a marketing stand point it makes sense. As for the AI, well, we'll see. I'm not convinced it will be anything special in these games. Hopefully, I am wrong.
