Thanks for suggesting that remedy Unfortunately too late now, but if I run into the same issues, I'll try that. I did try disconnecting the WiFi adaptor but I didn't try loggin in with it disconnected.. Ooops.

btw, when I re-bought the game I noticed the Guitar has Gibson written on the neck. I thought that was odd as my older one has nothing written on it. Is yours a Gibson?

Just to let everyone know that has Xbox Live there is a demo out for GH3 now. It has five songs. It kinda gets me excited for the game. Although I still want Rock Band more than this.

Yeah they pushed that demo onto XBL sooner than they had previously said because of all the leaked footage and such.

Some Canadians are finding the 360 version already in stores for sale at local BlockBuster Videos and Rogers Video. Sadly only the game and not with guitar. Just in case anyone wanted it early

I forgot the store where my brother reserved the copy of GHIII, but he got a limited edition guitar strap. And I'm excited he's getting the game because now he'll have two guitars. Gloworm had become quite good at using the controller.

You beat it? The only way in my eyes to "beat" this game is to get perfect on every song on every difficulty level. Can you honestly tell me you god perfect on Through the Fire and flames? Both of you?

God is watching.

I've read some good things about it. I mean as far as the controller is concerned. I'm trying to push my room mate into getting it for his Wii. I got him hooked on GH 2 on my 360. My 360 bricked a couple weeks ago and I am now waiting for it to come back. I got the game and controller for my 360 today just to make sure I had it when my machine is returned. I got to play some coop at a friends house and once I tell my room mate how much more fun it is maybe that'll push him over the edge.

No, not like that. We just played it through and passed all the songs and finished Medium mode. That sound better? Haha. We're going to start working on Hard mode next probably.

Well from the little that I played at a friends house Medium in GH 3 is (as they said in the gamespy review) almost like hard in GH 2 without the orange button but makes the transition from medium to hard much easier.

I played some coop in GH 2 but nothing gave me quite as much fun as playing Metallicas One coop with a friend. Highlight of my day right there.

Oh and if you do actually get through Through the fire and Flames without missing a not... call the Smithsonian or the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They're gonna wanna Bronze your hands and display them.

On medium I did a "face off" against someone & I got like 67% & the other person got 98%

Your also right about the speed of medium almost being equal to the speed of hard on GH2. I noticed this on the demo right away.

Some parts of "One" on medium are actually more realistic to the actual "real" notes on a guitar. The placing is done quite well. The problem I have (other than the fast solo) is the intro. The ba da da daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa You do not need to hold down any string on a real guitar because it is an open note & it feels silly having to hold a fret button for it.

I am really impressed with the graphics & online is fun too. I like how everyone I do not know on Live has to be a total prick. I guess gamers are not happy if they are winning or losing anymore, its more about verbal threat victories than actual gameplay & or fun & enjoyment of said game. Sad.

I picked up the software only cause I already have 2 wired guitars. So far so good so what? btw NO MEGADEATH for shame!!

Well Derb if you wanna add me to your friends list on live feel free. I am a competent sted fast medium player and got most of the way through hard on GH2. Barely got past Freya (with star power help) but failed miserably on Stop by Janes addiction. I like to have the fun verbal teasing on live but never get abusive and definitely know if I'm good at 1 song and or game I know I'm sucky at another so I never burn bridges online. I'm there to have fun.

My gamer tag is umainbearman (without the e after maine) I'll add you when my 360 comes back from the brick farm in Texas. Hopefully another week or 2 and I'll have it. I'm having serious Madden withdrawals too. Plus the torture of having the new wireless Gibson and game disk staring at me everyday in my living room is driving me nuts.

Coo.. let me know when ya get your 360 back.

As far as GH2 goes for me, well I am sorta in the same boat as you. I can't get past Freya on Expert. I forgot to add that notes which you just have to tap the fret buttons (hammer-ons - pull-offs) are much easier to do on GH3.

I got South Park seasons 1-10. Don't know if I have that ep.

I went ahead & got the BLACK guitar. Somebody waited toooo long to pick up their pre-order. he he.

Anyway, the thing to my surprise takes 2 AA batteries. I was kinda hoping for the same dealy as the 360 wireless controller. Not to big O deal if you have plenty of rechargeable batteries.

btw, why is the neck detachable? Are they gonna sell future guitar necks for $$$

Easier storage, easier to transport it if you take it to a friends and such. They have travel bags for GH2 controllers and I'm sure the ones for these will be smaller to accommodate the detachable necks.

i am getting this for x-mas (actually purchased and up in our closet).

what is the song list again? I know there is one posted on this forum.

and, i keep seeing the commercial with the kid turning into Slash and playing the Velvet Revolver song. Is that in the game, or just for the commercial? I dont remember seeing it on any song lists.

the guy at the store told me that the wireless controller is good for both GHII and GHIII, as well as the GHII wired controller is good for GHIII also.

is that true?

Yes, the guitars work across the games.

Man, hard is more like expert from GH2 at the later stages.

I did some coop with my room mate tonight and he used the GH 2 controller so so yes they are indeed good for both games. I'm pulling this from an older article but it looks right from what I've played through so far. The master tracks and covers aren't labeled.

The 2 worst covers though unfortunately are Pride and Joy and LaGrange. Who ever was singing Pride and Joy on this cover should have his throat ripped out and then have his tounge removed so a noise is never heard from that orifice again.

Lay Down, Stricken, and Even Flow are my 3 favorite tracks to play right now. They did a great job with the note placements. They flow really well unlike say Jordan or institutionalized in GH 2 where the notes seemed to be just placed at random. Of course my head still hurts from all the clunking I get from trying to get through Through the Fire and Flames.

I'm a mostly medium player but do ok on Hard. I only did Slow ride and When you where young on hard but am going to tray and get my 5 stars on all the mediums first. I wanna do the easy tour too just for the gamer points . I'm a points whore.

Through the Fire & Flames

Fake.. but funny.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig6ClFm_yhM

Real deal -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2fRH7wHvd0

If you check the actual leaderboards, he holds #2 for that song. #1 belongs to someone who got 900,000+

Finally pre-ordered Rock Band set. Have had the software only for awhile now & played through all the songs minus a few downloads & I gotta say I still prefer GH3 over it. RB should have been an Activision game so the layout is identical or close to GH2 or GH3.

I play RB on hard level no prob now that I calibrated the A/V sync. Medium on RB is like easy on GH3.
