Wow, Dream On is soooooooooo easy to play on medium.

I'll have to check out hard & expert.

Would of liked to have the original though... but hey, it's free.

Hard and expert are fun.

I kinda like the re-recording. Its still got that original feel to it but with a new (but not too new) sound.

Man do I ever suck at this game. Apparently I have no rhythm. The wife seems to be about 10 times better at it than me. I do notice that I do better on the songs that have a rhythm that I am familiar with.

Yeah I do alot better on songs I like more. Unfortunately I really love Stevie Ray Vaughns Pride and Joy buy the vocalist in GH 3 turned that song into a steaming pile of dung so I never play it.

The more you play the better you'll get. Don't feel you have to force yourself into going to the next difficulty level just because you've finished one. If your ok at medium keep on truckin on medium, theres always room to improve. Then if you think you wanna venture out in to hard or as I call it "Land of the evil orange button" try it on practice mode a few times to get the feel for haveing to slide back and forth.

Damn red button for me! I'm double jointed and the first joint (closest to the finger tip) keeps trying to lock on me and screws up what rhythm I have.

Well you can always do what I do sometimes. Instead of leaving your fingers sitting on the buttons just hover them over it and when the time comes for hitting whatever button just give it a quick tap and strum unless it's a sequence where theres several on the same color then just hold that one down.

Yep the only time you have to let go of green, red, yellow, blue, orange is for chords.

I notice online a lot of people never use this technique

My technique I have dubbed the "panicked rabbit" technique. If I see a string of notes that spook me all basic technique flies out the window and my fingers start hopping.

I know I can hold down buttons and play lower ones but I never do, or rarely ever do. When I teach people how to play I tell them NOT to play like me but to play like I tell them.

Thought I got a "Streak Master" achievement unlocked while playing someone online. Pure fluke.. Got 1044 note streak on that downloaded german song on MEDIUM. Nope that achievement only applies to Quickplay or Career mode.

btw, have you guys linked up you game to Guitarhero.com??? If so, you can find out your win/loss record on their site.

So far my win/loss record is 2,464 / 570

I think you have be in career co-op and not a quick play or even in and online co-op match.

Well I would rather have these for Rock Band no doubt. I haven't had a reason to put my GH3 disk in my console for some time.

New Def Leppard single to hit GH3 before retail - Joystiq

Finally beat Hard level.

Raining Blood - "Mosh 1" always killed me.

btw, rant

Sinse GH Aerosmith came out their site has changed & my profile has been deleted. My record was around 3000+/800 at the time. No point in linking the game to their site if they are just gonna reset everything anytime they decide to release a new GH.

Gawd damn. At first I thought it might be a person playing the video of the guy that programmed a computer to do TTFAF on the screen and trying to make it look like he was doing it. But that video the computer whammies every long note so that was quickly disreguarded. WOW! Couple observations though:

1. This kid needs a hobby, maybe a job, some quality time outdoors. He's obviously got way to much time on his hands.

2. With a tv that huge ya don't really need to sit 1 foot away.

3. WOW!

What impressed me the most about that performance was he did not over strum a single note. You can get 100% on a song without getting a perfect note streak. Like when there is a pause in the song yet ya accidentally strum nothing.

I first recognized this iamchrisforlife guy when GH2 came out. He quickly climbed the leaderboards to #1.

In his youtube profile he also has done Rock Band drums... "Move Along" Expert drums.. 400K or something. He has a Guinness Records vid for TTFAF & a few vids showing the intro tapping up close.

Whatever, the guy is a robot.

Thought it was interesting, you get 11 bonus tracks for Guitar hero 3 when you buy the new Metallica album at Best Buy! Metallica - Exclusive Guitar Hero III Tracks

Interesting, because they don't say Metallica songs. True the album is going to be playable on GH3 the day it comes out, but I wonder if these tracks are the free album or just eleven more tracks?

Not sure but if the album is 11 tracks I would put money on the "free" tracks are from the album. But the album itself if whats a positive word for terrible?

If I where GH3 players that where planning on getting GH:WT I would put a halt to any DLC purchases. GH3 dlc is not computable with GH:WT.

Well the two tracks I've heard are great(and the album is 10 tracks, odd). What is WT?

World Tour

It is the next GH game due out this October & the new Metallica album will be available for download on both GH3 & GH:WT.

Personally I'd rather have it for GH3. I'm not sure if GH:WT has the same mechanics as GH: Aerosmith... god I hope not. At least when I get the album for GH3, I know I'll be able hit hammer-on's & pull-off's

Ok

I've listened to most of the new Metallica Album & OMG, this will be hard to play, no doubt. Some tracks remind me a bit like old school Slayer so I'm wondering if its because Rick Rubin (sp?) produced this... Anyways I'm sure this will have a huge learning curve.

Much better than St. Anger thats for sure.

XM ch 51 Mandatory Metallica! Sept 1st to Sept 30th.

Agreed. If you buy the album at Best Buy, it says you get a card for downloading the album for GHIII and WT for XBox. I'm hoping that means that the tracks aren't XBox-exclusive. Anyone?

I highly doubt they will be exclusive to xbox. At E3 the GH camp revealed Metallica would be GH only. So I'm sure its across all platforms.

Well then I'm out. I'll admit it, I'm not that great at GH. I've pretty much perfected all of the songs on the easy level, but I really have a hard time on the medium level. I'm at the second to the last group of songs. It's not the speed that screws me, it's that extra note. Once I slide my hand down the neck, I completely blow a brain fart and lose track of where my notes are. Of the songs I've completed, I've hit about 70% of the notes. I guess you won't be seeing me on youtube anytime soon.

The free tracks from Best Buy are 360 exclusive, but the tracks themselves will likely be available for seperate purchase on PS3.

Mm, sadly... Playstation owners are going to buy something XBox owners get for free. Awesome...

Also, apparently, the 11th track is an extended version of "Suicide and Redemption". Yeah, the album version of that song is a solid 10 minutes. Extended version will probably cause instant arthritis.
