I'll check out exactly where that POS song is.

If its the one with the mega Guitar solo, than it has to be the same song I'm stuck on with Drums.

Theres no mistaking Green Grass and High Tides for any other song. Its long tedious and it seems like it has 6 10 minute solos.

Just downloaded Wonderwall and love that song on drums (HARD difficulty). Not too difficult, but its fun to play. Also got "All the Small Things" and that is also great on drums. Havent tried em on guitar yet cause my guitar is on its way to EA Support for replacement Might get "Roxanne" for the Rock Band parties so people can embarrass themselves, haha.

Would love some Godsmack songs!!!

Nevermind album would be badass as well

Ahh yeah

Its the last song on EASY & on MEDIUM its in the same order. So basically no chance in hell of passing medium. Shame, thats 3/4 the songs down the drain.

I still do not like EA's "style" of notes. Too small. Especially HO & PO's

Its fun to get a band together but solo play is just... mm dumb.

Yeah Green Grass and High Tides is my last hurdle on hard guitar. I think last week I lucked my way through Flirtin' with disaster. But those GG&HT solos just kick the crap out of me on hard. I think I get to 66 or 70 % and then I'm through.

I do like to goto quick play choose random song and then hard guitar. It keeps things interesting.

Cool thing about that is all your songs are included with random. So you might get a downloaded one by surprise.

I love All The Small Things. The guitar, drums and vocals are all around great. I've discovered that anything like Blink182 or Oasis that gets up all nasely and whiney, I can nail on vocals. I'm so into Rock Band now that I bought 2 new pairs of drum sticks today and am having them engraved with my band's name: Cinnamon Swallow ya, I'm pretty much a geek. I've learned to live with it.

I did not get the official Rock Band sticks with the game. I got some thin, very light sticks which I guess are being packaged with the latest copies of the game. The difference it made to have some thicker, heavier (#5A) sticks with a nylon tip on them was pretty noticeable right away. The new nylon-end ones have a great bouncy feel when you hit the pad.

I have a question though, and rather than ask it at the RockBand.com forums and have it get buried in that unmoderated mess, I'll see if anyone here knows...

How do I get my band to start showing up on the world-wide leaderboards? When I view all the band stats on the "Rock Central Server" I get some kind of message at the end of the page that says that I have to "play to join" or something

Well, I'm playing all the time. I have a band. I have friends over regularly and we typically play on hard. We're building up points and fans.

Another thing is that I keep getting a message about the name Cinnamon Swallow not being "classy" and it will not be able to show up on XBL unless I change it... which aint gonna happen.

Thirdly, where do I find the total number of points that my band has gotten? I can easily find out how many fans we have and other stats, but where to find the band's points eludes me.

oh, and the NIN pack is out way early, along with two All American Rejects songs. Only one was announced which was Dirty Little Secret. A few days after that one hit XBL, Harmonix just put out an unannounced song which was Move Along. I love that Harmonix is run by such a great group of people and they'll give us little surprises like this.

Well as far as the NIN pack being out early...... that article in OXM was more to give people an idea of what was upcoming rather than being a rock solid release schedule. Harmonix has said that any schedule they have is always until the very last second tentative at best. For instance one of this weeks songs is heavily rumored to be Casey Jones from The Greatful Dead. You will never know until they post what it actually will be in the Rockband.com forums monday afternoons.

For those who haven't popped Rock Band into your drives in the last couple days both the PS3 and 360 have updates on there respective services.

The update include a very cool new and easy way to search through the RB DLC. They are calling it the music store. It makes it much easier, I think, to decide whether or not to get a song or song pack. If you haven't heard or think you haven't heard a song you can get a preview of it ala itunes. It also includes the difficulty of the individual instruments and total band. New releases, songs, and song packs are the initial catyagories to surf and then one other that I'm sure many people have been waiting for, Full Albums (coming soon).

I got the update this morning and its the coolest and most useful update I've seen in a long time for any game.

This is all "in game" ?

I've been having trouble keeping up with all the new downloads & unlike GH3, you had to exit the game to get to the DLC page on live.

I may stop now though. Currently have 132 songs.

Yeah its ALL in game. Best gaming update EVER! Oh and as an added bonus they also removed the fans cap on band world tour. What the hell does that mean? You ask? Well it means the required upping of difficulty to gain mor fans has been done away with.

Oh and just to let you know, you may be stopping but it won't be until after this weeks newest DLC!!!!!

BEHOLD!!! THE BOSTON PACK!!!!!!

“More Than a Feeling” (Master)
“Peace of Mind” (Master)
“Smokin’” (Master)
“Rock & Roll Band” (Master)
“Something About You” (Master)
“Hitch a Ride” (Master)

Coo thanks.

btw that has prevented my weak ass band to go ANY further in the tour.

How about Roadies? Have they also removed that cap? Can't fly to different countries without roadies.

Still wish the in game layout was more forgiving for hitting notes. I miss a lot still because they are well....little tiny rectangles. If only Ea could have copycat GH2 or 3's layout. Especially when it comes to HO/PO's Yikes!

A cool thing also would be to eliminate the actual lead singer so ya can't hear him/her at all. Complete karaoke style!

Well as far as roadies and going to other countries are concerned all you need to do is play the gig that is marked for the "Roadie rock off" at the Gas Works tavern in Seattle. The game will tell you when its availible. Same goes for the bus and then you get the jet. When you get the jet then you go overseas.

The cap is still active with the new update.

The previous cap was 40,000 fans
The new update allows for 260,000 fans

JFYI.

I tried the drums for Rock Band on my brother's PS3, and about 15 seconds into my ankles hurt. Then after about another 30 seconds my back started killing me. My career as a drummer lasted 45 seconds.

Well if you aren't at least sitting in a chair of some sort then you are gonna be in a bad position. Couches are also not good because you sink down in the cushions.

New DLC tomorrow for Rock Band.

"Still Alive" as performed by GlaDos

If you don't know the song go play Portal.

Oh yeah and it's free.

I got it just before I went to work this morning. So it was up on XBL before 6:30 am.

Don't know why the PS3 has to get a redesigned RB music store. Oh well they'll miss next weeks DLC too.

Its their entire Store section, not just Rock Band store, and no content can go up for two weeks while the transition takes place.

Yeah I downloaded it at 2 am so it was up pretty much right on April 1st. Of course I ended up downloading a bunch of other songs (their master plan worked with the free song I ended up downloading about 4 more).

Ahhhh ok that makes more sense. Couldn't understand why they would need to redesign something that was just released last week.

I have done the "gone in for 1 thing come out with more" thing too with the RB DLC. But as of right now I've gotten everything I want.

I've been kind of dissapointed with the DLC the last fews weeks. The Arpil 1st one sucked. There was one with 2 bands I'd never heard of and one I didn't care about. And then the week with the 3 songs from that demo disc a while back that I already had. I'm not really complaining too much as they've done a fantastic job so far (especially compared to GH3) but I just hope it gets back to the usual quality level next week. Should find out tomorrow what it will be Tuesday.

AWESOME! New DLC for 4/15 is some I've been waiting on!

"Call Me" by Blondie (master)

"Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd (master)

"Message in Bottle" by the Police (master)

Yeah 1138 alot of the DLC can be disappointing but when you get crap like the "Thrash pack" everything after that looks great. However when you buy a game called Rock band and you get 6 songs by Boston I can't see how that in anyway shape or form can be called disappointing. I mean your bound to like a couple of those 6. Plus April 1st was a free song so...

These last 2 weeks "Still Alive" and the junk that was on the OXB disk which was released this past week should be forgiven I guess. The Dev team was on vacation from what I understand. I'm betting withing the next week or 2 we'll see that oft refered to "full album" whether it be "Whos Next" or "Nevermind".

Are the drums collapsible? Or do you need to store them fully assembled? I just wouldn't have a lot of space these.

They come apart ratehr easily.

umainebearman: Like I said, I'm not complaining too much because over all, it has been very good. I had hardly ever had a week I didn't like something until the last month or so I've been dissapointed. Boston was very nice. I'm just a little saddened by the reality finally hitting that not every week is going to be great for everyone. But I love this game. The gf and I play this all the time still. And we're planning on having a big RB party specifically to pass the 58 song set list.

They finally announced a European release, 23 May, and are doing it as an instrument bundle, with no game, and the game on its own. RRP is £130 for the instruments and £50 for the game, so £180 for everything, £100 more than you pay for this in the US.

Thats just not cool.

I remember visiting England 10 years or so ago & purchasing a few cds. £30 EACH! Which at the time of conversion = $76 CDN or $70 USD. I would boycott electronic stores where you are. Seriously

Rock Bank bundle = £180

Wonder how many US residents would pony up $360 bucks to get it?

I wouldn't have. But I didn't have to. Of course this is a lot bigger country where the bundles and games would way outsell any of the European bundles so... Someones gotta pay more for the manufacturing and shipping costs.

It's a 360 timed exclusive in Europe too. It's due on the PS3 and PS2 a few months later.

First full album will be Judas Priest's 1982 Album 'Screaming For Vengeance' and will be out on Tuesday Apr 22 for 1200 Microsoft Points

DLC Week April 22nd: First full album- Judas Priest! - Rock Band - Forums

Its nice to finally have the full albums coming, but people have been screaming for Nirvana and The Who for so long that this seems just a bit disappointing.

RockBand.com says that there will be a lot more info coming in the next few weeks regarding The Who and other complete albums.

Yeah, that's kind of a weird pick. I sometimes wonder about some of the songs they include, could it be that they are bargains when it comes to royalties?

Still content on RB is way beyond GH3 currently.

My biggest gripe with RB (One reason I rarely throw it in the 360) is the actual control of the game in general. Being a guitar hero freak, (Over 2700 wins now) ...RB is lightyears behind GH3 in terms of simple things like hammer on's & pull off's (Miss every one btw) & basically the layout of them horizontal notes is um.. So, yeah, kinda takes the fun right out of the game for me. So what if they have all the best artists songs if ya can't get 100% notes hit on any of them!

If the gameplay was identical to GH2 or GH3, I bet I'd never leave RB.

Sorry, I'm a perfectionist on guitar & when I miss a note I know I hit, it just ain't fun.

This week's DLC includes

This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race -- Fallout Boy
Date With The Night -- Yeah Yeah Yeahs
It Hurts -- Angels & Airwaves

meh :S

does anyone know if Arms Race or It Hurts are edited to be family friendly? Radio friendly non-swearing edits = no sale

**edit** yes they are edited. I don't even think that Arms Race is the radio edit. The word "God" is even more silenced than usual.

Thats the truth, RB is better in every single way.

As far as your gripe with the HO/POs.... I haven't hand any trouble with the RB hammer ons and pull offs. As a matter of fact I hit more of the RB ho/po than I do or did in GH 2 or 3. Horizontal notes... not really sure what you mean by that one??

I haven't put GH in my 360 in over 2 months. I'm thinking its trade in time for that paper weight. Maybe if Red Octane would support it with some actual DLC then it would be worth playing.
