As far as your gripe with the HO/POs.... I haven't hand any trouble with the RB hammer ons and pull offs. As a matter of fact I hit more of the RB ho/po than I do or did in GH 2 or 3. Horizontal notes... not really sure what you mean by that one??
Sorry but no way is RB better at "gameplay" than GH3 with regard to guitar playing.

Better songs less distracting back grounds, better features for a group. DLC which contributes to the games longevity, which leads to more game play puts GH to shame. So yeah I'd say that the everything about RB over shadows Guitar Heros 1 trick pony. But of course thats my opinion. I suppose you could ask everyone else on here that has played both which is better.

Why? both have there pro's & con's

RB's con just so happens to be guitar. At first I didn't mind missing a few notes here or there cause the songs rock! Now that I have played for months now, I still miss notes because of the lame placement of Ho & Po's + the note bar is almost half the size of GH3 because they went horizontal instead of round. I might be coming off a bit strong on this issue but aside from that, it is a great game & a better multi-player game than GH for sure. No argument there from me. Same with DLC. I have downloaded 70+ songs already & plan to get more.

I too have not touched GH3 in months. It's all RB. We played GH3 for about a month and then RB came out and it's been no play time for GH3 since.
