360 sucks

Have an account with Live & can access any game I have online except GH2 which just so happens to my fav game. All my high scores are saved under my LIVE account. I checked MS support. Their solution, dump the harddrive! WTF

That's a bummer -- just sounds like one of those things -- see reply in your other thread. I've had the 3 Red Lights of Death and had to wait a month+ before I got a replacement. Still love my 360 though.

Shouldn't this be in hardware...

That does suck. I have never heard of problems along the same lines as you are having. Quite annoying.

Shouldn't of even been created. Mods, go ahead & delete this thread if ya like.

I was/am/still/quite/possibly pissed right off & vented my frustration with Profiles+Live = Games Saved. For Guitar Hero 2 anyways. I ended up dumping the save file on the console & now the game works fine, but all my scores (except achievements) are history.

Derb, two things:

1) I have read your post 5 times now and still have no idea WTF you are talking about. And, if I did, I'd assume it would be user error because I've never heard of anything like you're describing.

2) dugpa needs to post his Sony flying saucer image again.

I was actually going to suggest the deleting of the GH2 stuff a couple days agao but just forgot about it. Whats the big deal about getting your scroes back? If you did it once you can do it again. Thats part of the fun of the game. Keep topping what you've got.

Oh and for the record its not a 360 issue it sounds more like a GH2 issue to me.

It sounds more like a Xbox Live or GH2 issue than it does the 360. It seems like that there should be more alternatives than just dumping the hard-drive.

It's made by Microsoft, who created Windows, so shouldn't the solution be to just reboot?

Guitar Hero 2 wasn't made by Microsoft.

That's a glitch programmed by the developers of the game (Harmonix), not an XBOX 360 or Microsoft problem. Therefore your thread subject "360 sucks" because of a specific game's glitch is rather ridiculous.

It would be similar to saying that the 360 sucks because Quake 4 has a crappy framerate and some freezing bugs - an overgeneralization that makes no sense. Complain to the publisher/developer of GH2 (Activision/Harmonix), it is their fault and they are also the only ones who are able to fix it.

Miss the good old gaming days when you didn't need a CONSOLE profile & INTERNET account to simply SAVE games. Because of this, yes it IS a Microsoft problem.

You don't need the internet to save games. I'm not sure why you think you do. Sure, if you're not connected to the internet you'll get an error when you try to sign in with your internet enabled profile, but that's all. The profile is still signed in and you can still save games.

As for the need to have a profile in the first place...

If all you want is to emulate the good old days, you didn't have to create the profile. There's one there by default and you don't have to make any changes or ever sign in/out of it to play games.

And again the problem you have been having has nothing to do with microsoft other than the fact that the game you are having problems with is being played on a 360.
