Mass Effect PC Version Should Fix All Blemishes on Masterpiece

Mass Effect PC news and pics are out...

Mass Effect is an amazing game with a looooot of technical crap wrong with it on 360, from horrid pop-in and low framerates to constant disc access and long load times.

This is one game worth the porting, in my opinion.

I just hope the improved inventory management is released as a patch for the 360 version. I'll take the other improvements too of course, but I don't know if they're really patchable without a major overhaul. Just replacing the inventory management module should be relatively straightforward though.

Yeah, I don't think they could patch the loading or pop-in, but the UI? Certainly...

Still, it would have to be a third system, as I am sure the PC version has a very mouse-centered interface.

I've been playing Mass Effect on the x360 and loving it. As far as my criticisms, I'd say that there are a few things that could be improved:

1) FPS sucks when using biotic powers on multiple enemies (i.e. Singularity). It's absolutely retarded sometimes because it's turned into a slideshow. However, you probably won't see this if you don't have a biotic in the group.

2) 85% of the planets you land on for side quests look the same, just with a just a texture map wrapper. After a while, it starts to get repetitive. It badly, badly needs more interesting side quests and a more diverse environment.

3) The main quests are far too short.

4) It needs more alien b00bies.

5) The main storyline is very naked without the side quests. IMHO, the main storyline needs to be a full meal in itself. Right now, the side quests essentially dwarf the main story. It's sort of like buying a steak and getting a plate full of green beans and a stake the size of a silver dollar. I realize that side quests are supposed to help supplement the main quest, but I felt they didn't vary all that much and basically felt like empty calories.

I know that sort of sounds down on the game, but honestly its a lot of fun. I enjoy just flying around doing shit, Macking on alien chicks, and actually like a renegade jerk-off.

One thing that would be nice is an easy way to show off your custom character online. I've got three now... an albino jedi..er...paragon, a wesley snipes demolition man renegade, and a hot blonde chick my wife actually helped me make.
