Anyone getting Rainbow Six: Vegas 2? I have it pre-orderd and am looking forward to it.

Just got my copy, but i've not played it yet. I'll give my first impressions later this evening.

Haven't gotten mine yet, but was a little worried when the reviews came in calling it a glorified expansion pack (worried in the sense that I didnot wat to pay 60 dollars for it)

Yeah, it's just basically more of the same. Only real new addition i've noticed is that XP is now earned in single player as well as multiplayer. I knew that when i bought it, but since i loved the first game, more of the same is fine with me.

If the XP is the only thing you've noticed thats different you wheren't paying that much attention when you where playing.

Well, i am only up to act 2 as i only played for an hour or so, but so far the game looks & plays identically to the original.

Well my whole achievement for the game has been reached. I wanted to rank up high enough to get the Barrett M468. Ever since I saw it on The Discovery channels Future weapons and heard it was gonna be in the game I was psyched!

Theres nothing really special about it compared to some of the other assault rifles it just looks mean.

I have noticed that there seems to be a difficulty jump as you move on through the game. Unlike the 1st Vegas. Maybe I'm just imagining it. But I just started the Rec center mission and the guys I couldn't get head shots on I was saying to myself "Damn that boys got alot of body armor on.

The Enemy AI is definitely smarter and I like how they but enemy snipers where enemy snipers should be. I also like how when I get killed it says from what weapon I was killed. That way I can try and plan my next attack a little more carefully.

Did they do a good job varying the enviornments? When I heard it was set in Vegas again the first thing I thought of was more casinos and more warehouses... I want to see some new levels.

Well the first few levels I've played are very non vegas levels. No Casinos yet. A few outdoors fire fights and some options of breaching rooms from indoors and through windows. It's the grittier Vegas out lying streets and such.

The first part of the game takes place pre Vegas 1 and as it moves on your characters are supposed to be moving parallel to the story in the first Vegas.

I'm enjoying it, but with the bugs, poor frame rate and tearing in places it's a bit of a cheek calling it a sequel. It feels more like an expansion that has arrived about six months too late.

What console are you running it on? I haven't had any of those issues.

One of the things I noticed a lot while playing was the horrible textures, especially on cars that surround the are making your path.

Anyone notice and weird sound issues when using 5.1 on the 360? A lot of times, voices are inaudible if they're to the side or behind me, my character's gun won't make a sound, and it seems like there's sometimes a dead spot in the surround set-up. (no, none of the speakers are dead or disconnected) I didn't notice anything like this with the first game.

Thats an intermittent audio bug the first one had too. Just as long as you can hear bad guys coming up behind you be thankful .

Finally got the game yesterday and am very, very happy with it... looks great at high settings and runs super smooth, mostly a polished version of Vegas but when Vegas is one of your favorite games, more polish is a godsend.

Freedom Shall Prevail achievement glitch.

As most of the R6V2 players know Freedom Shall Prevail is the achievement you get for completing the campaign on realistic. Now if you did realistic and you got the achievement great. However if you did realistic all the way through and you didn't get that satisfying "boo boob" to show an achievement your first tought is "WHAT THE F***!". That was mine, then I thought oh crap I did some coop story and maybe I needed to go back over those levels alone. That was not the case.

I did some research and if you didn't get the Freedom Shall Prevail achievement just join a coop game (any level on realistic) and complete it. Your achievement should pop up. I just did this and it appeared. Apparently theres another glitch too with the Private first class achievement but Ubisoft is supposed to be working on that one too.
