The STEAM Thread
So I know the gaming section gets little attention, and PC gaming even less on top of that, but I thought why not have a Steam thread.
Steam is fast becomming the default gaming platform for PC games and is, in my multi-platform opinion, the best gaming community available. It has all the features Xbox Live has plus more PC centered ones, all for free, and all with faster and more intuitive design. Biggest Steam news recently is the addition of Ubisoft, one of the last publisher holdouts. Ubisoft as announced 40 titles are planned for addition to Steam over the coming weeks, with Splinter Cell, Far Cry and Assassin's Creed leading the march this week. I purchased Assassin's Creed and look forward to playing a superior version of that game. Considering getting Far Cry just to have a Steam version of it. So who else is using Steam, loving Steam, hating Steam, or wants to know more about it? |

I just need to upgrade my video card on my computer before I even consider using my PC to game with. I think I asked you before can you re download a game if you have to reinstall your system or are you screwed? What about multiple computers? Is it like iTunes where you can only license so many? I would probably use it for buying games at all hours of the night. Oh are the prices reasonable?

STEAM has come a long way from when it first came out, where it was clunky and buggy IMO. Also by proving itself for so long it can now be considered that buying something on it is a safe bet. There is a more likely chance you will misplace your CD KEY than STEAM being killed off. Also, now that most developers have joined STEAM it makes the nightmare scenario of multiple STEAM-like systems less likely.
In light of these new developments, I am now PRO-steam as opposed to ANTI-steam in the past. ![]()

Wow, maybe a new graphic card for the computer is looking better and better.

I've had Steam on my PC laptop for a while as a Half Life player, but I recently picked up Prey for a $5 special on Stream. Not a great game, but worth the price I paid.
But I don't use it much anymore since switching to Mac as amy primary computer.
