PS3 game suggestions
Ok, so It seems to me it's come down to picking one of these up, specifically for Blu-ray duty, but games are nice too.
I love my 360, so what games are THE BEST on the PS3 that are not available on the 360? or it other words; What PS3 game(s) should I buy?

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Resistance: Fall of Man flOw (download) Ratchet and Clank Future Motorstorm Rent Heavenly Sword... buy Burnout Paradise for PS3 if you didn't already get it for 360... buy Everyday Shooter if you like those kinds of games. Also, I know Lair is despised for its controls, but I loved it, and it's cheap, and there's an analog patch coming out so you can play it with sticks. |

Thanks Moog!
I have Burnout Paradice for the 360, it's pretty fun, but I got tired of it rather quickly. The new downloadable content coming in June will probably interest me in it again though. ![]() Anyone try the Eye Of Judgement? It looks oddly entertaining.

I am really liking Dynasty Warriors 6. Apart from being one of the few offline co-op games, it is really fun and has great graphics and replay value.
I also liked Marvel Ultimate Alliance but you want PS3 exclusive. And... as I write this I went and looked and DW6 was also on xbox so nm. But still a great game!

It's funny how when comparing only consoles the 360 has a ton of awesome exclusives, but if you also have a gaming PC it has barely any and the PS3 has a ton of them.
I wrote that crappy, but hopefully it makes sense. In short: I look at the PS3 as the exclusives homerun hitter. |

The overall experience of gaming on a PC vs. a console is too different for the two to really be comparable, as you can see in the numbers of people who game on both platforms. I don't have any real numbers to support that last part, but I'm sure you can agree that PC gamers and console gamers are, for the most part, different people and it's a minority of gamers that game on both. Granted, if someone is a PC gamer and is looking to get into consoles to supplement their PC gaming, then maybe a PS3 is the best bet. But if they're looking to replacing their PC gaming with console gaming, I'd be hard pressed to recommend anything but the 360. In short, maybe the PS3 is the exclusives king when it comes to consoles and PC gaming, but for console exclusivity the 360 leaves it in the dust. But then again, you already said pretty much that so I don't know what I've just written a five paragraph ramble. KM

I think if you went to some PC-centered forums like nvnews or tweakguides you would see that a large portion of PC gamers have at least one console (usually a Wii or PS3).
I know what you mean though, PC gaming is sort of a whole other realm of gaming in a lot of ways, and with Steam becomming HUGE it's actually getting more popular, not less, and building an Xbox Live-style community. I know for myself whenever I delve back into PC gaming, usually after a hardware upgrade, I ignore my consoles for a long period of time. In any event, different cultures or not, I was just stating what you agreed with, that the vast majority of 360 exclusives also come to PC and thus, for a PC gamer, the PS3 is a better choice. |

That makes pretty good sense to me as well.
Especially if what you're after is the largest pool of games to buy from. Of course at a certain point, if you're really that into gaming, you probably own every system you want any way.

However, despite my relatively banging PC (Q6600, 8800GTS 640mb, 4GB RAM, 360 <> PC wireless controller receiver), I find myself playing the majority of games on 360. There are some exceptions such as Doom series, Quake series, Unreal series, Trackmania series, Dawn of War, etc, but that is because these games seem to have been designed for the PC from the ground up and don't translate as well to consoles. I just find 360 gaming more fun, and the whole experience overall better than PC despite my PC having far superior hardware. Also, your comment about most PC owners having Wii/PS3 does not jive with my forum experience. On the larger PC gaming sites RAGE3D, STEAM Forums, etc, most PC gamers who also game on console seem to own a 360 (those who do not put down console gaming in general, of course). In fact, RAGE3D just had a poll of which system people are going to buy GTAIV for and most picked 360: [GTA IV] Which version will you buy? - Rage3D Discussion Area Buying GTA4 for 360 - 61% Buying GTA4 for PS3 - 21% (136 respondents) There is much more that goes into the decision than which one has more current and upcoming exclusives that are not on PC (which is still 360, btw). There is also things like online play, which PC games are huge on. And, PSN is crap compared to XBOX Live based on the comments made by those who regularly use both; I know you personally don't play online, but for many PC gamers that is huge. Also 360 is cheaper and generally has better multiplatform games - less slowdown and better online play. Even though some 360 exclusives go to PC, there is often a year-long or more lag you have to wait to play those games on PC - and even then, its not uncommon that the gameplay of the 360 version is more refined. Finally little to no hard drive management needed on 360 due to a temporary automatic 6gb cache, while with PS3 you have 5GB installs that you must manage on the more graphically intensive games (to make up for the BD drive which is half the speed of 360's DVD drive)... Play 8-10 graphically intensive games on a 40GB PS3 and hard-drive spring cleaning is required, unless you want to deal with the longer BD loadtimes that is. These above arguments do not even take into account that some enjoy the different experience console gaming offers compared to PC gaming. So again, it is much more complex than just thinking "many 360 exclusives are going to be on PC, so I'll get a PS3." There are many things that may attract a PC gamer to PS3 over 360 as listed above.

Regardless your feelings on which system to get GTA IV on I'm just happy the PS3 and Xbox 360 are both being released at the same time. No more waiting months or years for it to be released on Xbox.

That's certainly true.
I noticed on Amazon GTAIV is running very close to 50/50 in sales.

GTA IV Poll results: Achievements, DLC put 360 ahead - Joystiq
Which version of GTAIV will you buy? Xbox 360: 58% PlayStation 3: 42% 38,000+ respondents Still laughing Derb? ![]() Bottom line, there is a lot more to picking a console than which has more exclusives not on PC.

It helps that you're in Canada. My launch Xbox bit it a couple of weeks back and I had heard horror stories from U.S. gamers of it taking weeks and weeks to get the replacement. I had the shipping box within 48 hours of calling, and the new Xbox within a week of that. Total time from calling to new Xbox was less than two weeks - probably closer to ten days.
Oh, and the number is: 1-800-4MYXBOX KM
