GH Aerosmith

Well this game isn't too bad but I have a mega pet peeve.

HO's & PO's have to be tapped!!!!!!!! unlike GH3.

Also the game isn't as forgiving as GH3 when it comes to accuracy. Its more in line with RB. From what I read around the net, everything I just posted indicated the exact opposite.

Not as forgiving of GH3 and more like Rock Band? I found Rock Band to be MUCH easier then GH3 was.

how do you mean? How is the game going to know if I reach up with my strum hand and tap a hammer on? Or do you mean... actually I don't know what you mean.

I was gonna give this a rent but if they changed the mechanices of the gameplay whats the point.

Thumbs down

Example

A yellow note which you have to strum followed by a green PO note.

In GH3, you can have both the green & yellow note held down before they come at ya. So basically strum the yellow note & let go while you already have the green note held down. The game would recognize this as a PO

In GH Aerosmith, it simply does not. In the case scenario above, the green fret button can't be held down at all. You'd have to strum the yellow & than tap the green as it comes at ya.

Same goes for HO's

I already finished the game so I will likely trade this in soon. What a disappointment.

Anybody who plays a real guitar knows ya do not have to tap either a HO or PO, sorry its complete BS.

I did notice the speed is decreased slightly on harder difficulties. Yay

Back to GH3 for me. Too bad about Metallica now as the same BS will probably be ported over. Why they couldn't just port the same gameplay from GH3 is beyond me.

I don’t understand this game. Wouldn’t it have been cheaper just to download an Aerosmith song pack for GH or RB? Do we really need an entire $60 game for one band?

No, then they wouldn't get to do the cheese cartoony cut scenes and throw in some very old Aerosmith songs nobody wants. Track packs people decide what they want. There are however some good non Aerosmith songs in this expansion.

However from what Derb is saying they've changed the well established game mechanics and like there Rock the 80s expansion last year, have way over priced this.
