Cant wait for E3 which starts on Monday the 14th. RB2 is supposed to be unveiled during Microsoft's press conference.

I saw some of the songs for RB2 on G4 TV the other day during X-Play and it looked like a good list, however, I think I am going to try to stay out of the loop as much as possible when it comes to the core set list that come with the game. When I put the disc into my Xbox in September, I want to be really surprised song after song. I think it will be a neat little treat... like getting a ton of down loadable content all at once.

Other than checking out the look of the new instruments and some of the game play aspects at E3, I'll pretty much stay out if it until Sept.

I am also torn between getting the killer MadCatz drum kit on Aug 1 or waiting until mid-September for the official RB2 kit which should be somewhat similar to the GH4 and MadCatz kits.

Yeah it's probably faked - however a lot of these have been confirmed, and the game will feature 80+ master recordings. One more week till we know for sure.

Yeah I would have liked something like Pull me Under instead too. But Thank god it's Dream Theater and not something as horrid as Dragon Force. It still boggles my mind that people think they are a good band.

I'm almost speechless.
I can't believe they put Dream Theater in there!
(I agree, I'd much prefer other songs, but it means more Dream Theater may be on the way in future releases or DLC!)

I'm just happy as shit that Rock Band 1 came out and was such a smash, so that these next-gen instruments (especially drums!) can really take advantage of the opportunity.

I've been waiting many years for a nice drum simulator, and hopefully these will make it even that much better.

Good point, MM really doesn't have any tunes that live up to the high quality of songs like Lump

Well find someone with a Rock Band 1 disk and you'll be able to import all of those songs into RB2.

I loved the MS press conference at e3. When the Guitar hero guy came out it was like dead quiet. When they announced rock band 2 they made some noise. At least the people know what company actually supports the product after release.

I like to see my neighbour reach success (EA) but can ya tone down the slang against GH when mentioning RB for once?

Well there no other game to compare it to and they did come on the stage withing 10 minutes of each other. I found it funny the differences in responses the 2 camps got is all.

So how much do you think it will cost for that drum set? I'm glad I held out this long but those drums look so kick ass.

I definitely like the look of the GH:WT drum set better than the RB2 set (retail not Ion). However they will have the same features (velocity sensitive and quieter drum heads) except the GH:WT will have the cymbols and the RB2 set will have expansion slots for them. That kinda sucks. But from a additional music, make the game last longer stand point Harmonix is going the DLC, import songs from the previous games route. Red Octane is going the make your own route. That sounds great and I'll be very interested to see how it works and what kind of restrictions are put on it.

damn that list of RB2 songs in the first post! I keep almost catching bits of it.

does anyone know when the Ion set will be available ?

I am OK with the design of the new drums for Rock Band 2 and am happy with them putting symbols on there, but I was hoping for a full redesign, similar to the MadCatz kit. So now I am looking at either the MadCatz or Ion drums for my new toy. I don't want to miss out on the Ions as they are a limited release.

With these problems $300 not worth it.

* Songs with fast, repetitive hi-hat beats (i.e. when you need to use two hands) will generally assign the hi-hat to the red pad, meaning you'll have to change your mindset back and forth on songs that capitalize on it, such as "Debaser" or "Everlong." The red pad is not able to have a cymbal attached to it.
* Songs that feature both open and closed hi-hat sounds generally assign the sounds to separate pads such as yellow and blue, while in real life you'd have a foot pedal to open and close the cymbals. The Police's "Message in the Bottle" highlights both this problem and the previous issue since it assigns the closed and open hi-hats to blue and green, respectively, for a large chunk of the song.
WTF man? if true thats insane. why would the drum kit switch which pad is to be hit.... OK. i re-read all that VERY s l o o w ly.

They are really just complaining about the way that Harmonix has constructed the note structure of some songs which does not work 100% efficiently with this drum kit. Phew. At first I thought they were saying that the drum kit reassigned notes to different pads depending on the song.

If they are complaining that in-game is not as 'real' as playing a real drum set... well its still just a simulation! It doesn't have to be the 100% experience of being a drummer on stage. I am currently used to playing all songs on 4 low pads right now. I will be happy, no ecstatic with 2-3 symbols attached to my kit.

Well my brother said he had a friend with possibly a Rock band 1 set for me brand new for $90Cnd from Best Buy. So i don't know if we will be seeing a lower price for the first set coming soon as they make way for the new sets. So i might be gaming with everyone soon and will probably buy RB2 when released
