buy 2, get 1 @ TRU

next week, this deal goes back into effect for the PS2 games. this also applies to toysrus.com, so you can use it there to order, say NBA Street 2 and 2 other games and not have to worry about the fact that NBA Street 2 isn't out yet.

of course, if you prefer in store I'd go hide the games you want now to make sure you get what you want.

Gamespot's in my area have buy two used items and get third free. All systems. No idea how long it will last. Good deal. Spent more then I should have. Is that ToysRus deal on the web too? The Gamespot's deal is not. What day does it start

Bless you if it's true.

One step ahead of you there. :p I hope Splinter Cell is out this week; that would make my trip all the more sweeter.

If Bune Duggy's info holds true, the sale should start this coming Sunday (April 13) and should be good until the 19th.

well, if I had webspace I'd scan the ad for you for visual confirmation. I'm a manager at one of the local TRU stores, hence I'm in the know. :P

and yes, it will work online. Last November when we had this same deal it applied, and in the ad it says it applies again. Last time, it worked with games that weren't out yet but they may have fixed it. (for example, the first time the coupon was on the web site, you could buy any 2 games and get any game free, such as 2 demo games for $10 each and then oh, say final fantasy x.) So, they may have ironed a few more bugs out of the system this time. Who knows until you try...especially since NBA Street 2 was moved up a week.

Also, Splinter Cell was moved to 4/10, according to TRU email. But, long has it been since I've trusted the powers that be to tell me about a release date. The only ones they are right about are the big titles that get shipped direct from the company, such as Zelda.

So is this for any ps2 game, or just a set list like the ones before? If it is for a list, could ya post whats included in there?

Your word is proof enough. Of course, if you want to scan the flyer, I'll be happy to host it as well (I'd like to know what else is on sale that week)

I had no luck with online pre-orders during the last sale (in November). When I was ready to do a checkout each time, the system failed (refused?) to recognize my pre-order addition as an item of equal or lesser value and would include it in the total line as a non-applicable purchase, i.e. added it to the final total. :rar: Nevertheless, I'm going to try again this Sunday to see if I can find a loophole somewhere. :p

Seeing as other retailers have already received their copies, I'm hoping that it will hit TRU's store shelves late this week (so I can hide away my copy ). If all goes well, I hope to have 9 new games on Sunday.

The offer should be good for any PS2 items currently in stock throughout the week, including new releases scheduled for that week. I know it doesn't apply to pre-order offers in-store; not sure about online. Of course it goes without saying that the third title must be of equal or lesser value than either of the first two.

I know my location has Dino Stalker and Endgame in stock, but I don't recall ever seeing Vampire Night or the GunCon accessory (sold seperately or bundled with a game). Yes, Auto Modellista is out (and one of the games on my shopping list). Plus, I have a slew of DVD releases on my wish list as well....

Cool, good to hear they have the guncon games in stock... I already have two guncons (one bought w/time crisis2 and 1 won with ninja assault) so them not having the actual gun isnt a concern with me... The only dvds on my list are Spirited Away and the other two of the trilogy, and I can put them off UNLESS somewhere has an awesome deal with em

A little tip for ya all.

I did this one time...and it worked for me.

I bought 2 games and got one free. I did NOT open 1 of them, and the next week I brought it in with my receipt. I said I wanted to get something else(or I got the wrong game... something like that) and simply exchanged it for something that came out that day. It might not work for sure, but it worked for me. Worth giving it a try if you get something you just kinda want. Just make sure you get it back within the return policy (and don't hold me responsible if it doesn't work...but I dont see why it wont.)

Good luck!

Here's an option for anyone who wants NBA Street 2: (at least, it will work at my TRU because I will let you do it) we are preselling this game right now. Just take the ticket to the counter with you, and say you want to pay the balance off right now. If they are a good monkey, they will just do it for you. They may or may not have an issue with the coupon, but just have them call a manager. I did it yesterday for a guy who wanted X2, but it doesn't come in until Thurs. just an option.

and I can tell you that the return policy at TRU is such that you can do what is described above. Just don't open it! TRU as a company has changed their policy to make sure there are no disgruntled guests. (i.e. bend over and take it, because it will make the customer happy)

Does anyone know if this works with SOCOM? You can't get it online, but the ad says all PS2 games.

I believe it should...as long as it is in stock. You will not get Socom free, but a cheaper one more than likely.
