As much as I love the idea of a kick-ass 2D Contra game I was waiting for it to be lowered in price and sure enough it's $25 now used at EB... $29.99 brand new at Target...

I really want to pick this up, but I need another price drop before I take the plunge. Having heard and read how hard the game is, last thing I want to do is drop $30 for 5 minutes of playing time.

It isn't the difficulty that bothers me, it's just that I didn't want to pay $50 for a simple side-scroller. That's really horrible though because I love side-scrollers and want more of them, but that was just the choice I made...

Same here. I love side-scrollers, but there's no way I'm paying ~$50 for one either (or $40, or $30..... :p )

I want to pick up Ikaruga for the GC, but I find it hard to shell out $40 for it right now, even though I suspect a limited pressing.
