Xbox Amazon to sell 1000 XBox 360 Core systems for $100.00

Amazon is doing a "Customer Vote" sale event. Amazon customers vote for one of 4 "deals" and the winning deal goes on sale Thursday (Thanksgiving) morning at 11am Pacific time. (2pm Eastern)

When I voted just now, the Xbox deal had around 78% of the vote, so it's probably likely to win, so if you've been waiting for a 360, this may be the deal to try to get in on.

I just voted for it, and right now it's got 87.9% of the votes.

I just hope I'd be able to grab one online in time.

So, since I don't have one yet, am I right to say what I'd need to make this like the "Pro" unit is a $100 hard-drive, a $40 wireless controller, and a set of $40 HD cables?

$280 vs. $400 sounds like a damn good deal to me.

Damn straight. 1,000 units... will probably sell out in what, a minute or two?

Still, worth a shot for that kind of discount.

Looks like it sold out in less than 30 seconds. Wild.

I was there and ready, but the page took forever to load, and when it finally did it said they were sold out.
I knew my chances of scoring one were slim, but I thought I would've made it farther than I did.

Ohh well.

Yep, exact same story for me.

I was surprised to see Amazon's servers come to such a crawl over this.

I didn't even try. My local MicroCenter was offering $100 rebates on ANY Xbox systems, so, thinking that I'd need a 20GB harddrive, a wireless controller, and an HD cable... I went to MC, and bought the Pro unti direct. Didn't even have to worry about dealing with Amazon's bullshit... which, I'm sure it would've been.

So I got the Pro system for $299, versus the Amazon deal of $100 for the core, $100 for the 20GHD, $50 for the wireless controller, and $40 for the HD cables.... $290 vs $299.. worth the simplicity, if you ask me.

Well I was told that the clowns accidentally left it open for order a day before it was supposed to be, and that everyone got them then.

(now why would people be trying to order it a day ahead of time?) hmm...
