Gamestop offering $100 for the PS2 trade in TOWARDS a PS3 at the same time - DVDfile.com forum for DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD

When you trade your PS2 at Gamestop when buying a PS3, they'll give you $100 for it. Their offering this through Feb 18. Also they'll want the system, plus power and video cords, as well as a memory card and 2 controllers, what they call a complete system. I haven't done this yet, the one I called said it's good for the $599 system only, but on AVS people have gotten the $499 one with this, so try multiple stores(if your like me, there's about 5 locations not 10 minutes away).

Promo should work on both types of systems, and just so ya know, the three pieces (PS2, Mem Card, Extra Controller) all usually bring in 50$... So its not too bad of a deal. Shame its not vaild towards all systems though, I've had alot of customers asking if they could get that same deal on a 360.

I am sooo tempted to do this. $500 on a game system is still really expensive. I paid $150 for my ps2 two years ago, so getting $100 back is a great deal.

Well they wouldn't buy mine. Seems the securety sticker was peeled off(when the official Sony repairmen refurbished it!!!!!). So, since the PS3 doesn't upscale PS2 games anyway, I'm selling the PS2 with the 12 games I have for it on Ebay, should get $100 easy, likely more.
