Shrek audio problem....
I have no subwoofer signal in Shrek. I tried both DTS and Dolby Digital, no sub.
![]() I tried the full screen (shudder) and widescreen to no avail. I know my sub is working, I put in Saving Private Ryan DTS and the sub was pumping like crazy. Anyone else having this issue? It worries me that both discs have no low end. Hopefully an exchange will fix me right up. |

No subwoofer problem on my disc. DTS actually sounds great. You may have a defective disc. 5.1 also puts out a good sound on both discs.

I noticed the same problem. However, I guess I was enjoying the DVD so much that I didn't notice until the end of the movie the lack of sub bass.
If the disk is indeed defective, who is responsible for replacing it - the retailer or Dreamworks? Tailspin |

More and more I think this DVD simply lacks punch from the .1 LFE channel. You're right, the Karoke ending (accessible from the main menu by selecting the musical easter egg) seems to be rich in bass compared to the rest of the film.
The review at http://www.widescreenreview.com confirms our concerns somewhat by suggesting that overall, the movie lacks consistent .1 LFE output, even in the rescue scene with the Dragon. I think I'll have to watch the DVD again to see how often, if at all, my SUB kicks in. ![]() [This message has been edited by Tailspin (edited 11-07-2001).] |
