major problems with my dvd player

If any of you can help. My Phillips dvd player will not play certain discs. For example with the Snatch dvd it will play the movie but it won't play the bonus disc. Is this common? Is there anyway to fix? If you have info on this problem could you please email me (fatrich1@yahoo.com) or post a reply. Thanks

Welcome to the forum fatrich1!

Yes, which model do you have and what other discs have problems?

You're not going to like this, fatrich, but you might want to consider a new player OR get your current player serviced. I don't know what you paid for your Philips and if you can return it, you should.

Try a Pioneer DV-343, a Toshiba SD-2710, a Sony NS300, or a Panasonic RV31 or RP56. There are other players around that will probably give you less trouble than the Philips. The Panasonic RP56 is a progressive scan player, where the others are not.

Also, have you tried other copies of the DVDs that give your Philips problems? You might have dirty or "bad" discs. If other copies of the discs you name STILL give your player problems, I would get a new player.

Peace.....
