Virtually no LFE on Planet of the Apes 2001

After reading the various glitches people have been experiencing with this DVD, I felt compelled to add my own problem to the list.

I watched the movie with the DTS soundtrack and I have to say this disc or my version at least, is seriously lacking .1 LFE! The only times which my Subwoofer felt engaged was in the space pod scenes where it was entering and leaving the planet. Obviously there are plenty of moments in this movie where the subwoofer should be cranked. However, even the explosion scene at the end failed to engage my subwoofer - I even checked at that moment and the power to the SUB was off!

All of my other DVDs except Shrek, exhibit the appropriate levels of ground shaking bass. Besides this .1 LFE problem and a couple of annoying sound glitches (static), this disc runs fine. Has anyone else experienced this problem or do I have a defective DVD on my hands?

My slowly growing DVD collection...

I also noticed the audio (dts) wasn't "earth shattering" by any means, but I think this is due to the DVD audio mastering than anything else. The DD audio wasn't much different (at least to me).

Still, I think the POTA DVD is a great quality DVD.....

Peace.....

I exchanged my DISC for another copy and found a very slight improvement if any. Then again, that could be just me wishing for more audible Low Frequency Effects!

Considering the sound glitches others have experienced, I have to say I am very disappointed with the audio mastering of this DVD.
