Defective Fantasia 2000 DVD?!
I have a Pioneer DV-434 player, and up until now, it has been the most robust player I have ever used. This player even has the undocumented ability to play SVCD's.I tried to play the Fantasia 2000 DVD, and it skips and stutters so severely that it is unwatchable. It cannot in my opinion be the player because every glitched disc people have mentioned in this forum plays flawlessly in the DV-434.I tried to go directly to the Firebird Suite (Chapter 16) from the chapter selection menu and that is when I noticed the problem.I just got the Fantasia anthology boxed set and I do not have time right now to watch the movie from the beginning to see if it works that way yet.Any ideas as to what is at fault are greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Pachinco Head!
![]() Well, if you can, I'd try exchanging the disc or try another version of the same discx somehow. Make sure that it's not just your copy and also see if it in fact might be a player incompatibility.

I confirmed, by borrowing my mothers copy of the Fantasia 2000 DVD, that my copy is indeed defective. My mother got her copy by itself, and not in the Fantasia Anthology boxed set.So far, I am the only one I know of who has had this problem, so I have no idea if it matters how the disc is purchased.

I've just played my Fantasia 2000, from the box set, for the first time. I get the same problem in the Firebird Suite - both picture and sound constantly breaking up. This is on a Pioneer DV-09. I tried it on a Sony and it completely froze. I'm sending it back for a replacement so lets see how that works out.
