Jurassic Park I & II DTS

I was just wondering if anyone has been able to compare the DTS and Dolby Digital versions of these movies. I had heard the initial pressings showed virtually no difference in sound. Usually you can hear some differences, although sometimes sublte. Quesiotns is, is the DTS versions better? Or would I just be okay with the 5.1 versions?

I had the original JP DTS version and sent it back when I heard that the bass levels were off. There is a difference, but maybe my HT equipment is good enough that I never felt like I was lacking any punch when it came to the bass that it wasn't as drastic as a lot of people said there was. I waited about 6 weeks for my new copy to ship, but looking back, it really wasn't that big a deal. Unless you really really want the most recent revision, all of the other 5.1 flavors, DD or DTS, are fine. I can't imagine too many people watched JP in DTS and said "where'd my subwoofer go?". It was loud and still a little better than the DD version.

Just my opinion. If you are happy with what you have, my suggestion is not to waste the money unless you are truly unhappy with what you have and use the money to buy another title.

Thanks G, that's the info I was looking for. I had heard about the botched initial pressings about the DTS being somewhat inferior to what it was supposed to be.I got Jurassic Park III and was going to sell the first 2 and get the DTS ones, but I have never been dissatisfied with them and since the DTS ones are a little better but do not have a significant difference, I think I'll stick with the 5.1 ones.
