Moulin Rouge - Subtitles interefer with Behind the Red Curtain feature

I rented this Thursday and noticed that the subtitles turned off and on at one point in the movie. It's the same problem as the Monty Python disk, only in reverse. It's the scene where Satine (sp?) and Christian are singing ontop of the elephant. Right after he says the line (can't remember exact lines, but if you watch the scene you'll know), "Love is like oxygen" the subtitles turn off and resumes when Satine says, "A girl has to eat too".

So I went back to the main menu and turned on the Behind the Red Curtain feature (green fairy flashes on screen) and at that exact same scene where the subtitles drop out, the fairy pops up. Has anyone experienced this problem with their player??

I have a Sony DVP-560D.

Thanks

Governor,

I am not sure this is a glitch, I'd call it more like programming. I think this is normal. It's preventing you from running multiple add ons at one time.

For example, the same thing happens with "The Matrix". You cannot have subtitles on and the "Follow the Rabbit" mode on at the same time.

I know the disk won't let you run both features at once. I've tried. But...even when the green fairy feature is off, the subtitles don't appear during that scene. I was tring to figure out what the problem could be and thought of the Monty Python SE problem (subtitles turn on briefly when the white rabbit would appear while using the "Follow the White Rabbit" feature). Only instead of turning on, the subtitles turn off on Moulin Rouge. This could be a player issue, so anyone with a Sony player check this out and that way I'll know if the disk was defective (I rented it, but am buying it next week).

What model player do you have??

Anyone, anyone?? Can someone look into this for me? It would be most appreciated so I can at least get an idea if it's player related or a defective disk.

Thanks.

For anyone who's still following this thread, I went ahead and watched the Behind the Red Curtain feature and wrote down the times at which the green fairy appears. At these times the subtitles disappear and reappear while the green fairy feature is off and the subtitle track turned on.
